I agree, we do. Sadly the left is only interested in going after the guns - aka the tools - instead of working toward ending the actual problem: violence. Because all they care about is disarming the populace, not in actually making any actual change to the violence (which as we see in countries that have banned guns, banning guns doesn't actually decrease the violence in that country, it just causes some shifts in tools used to continue perpetration of violence)

That's always been my solution to the problem. Any crime committed with a gun gets enhanced penalties even if no one was killed. Personally I favor public executions. Responsible, law abiding citizens who own guns would have nothing to worry about. The 2nd Amendment isn't going away, ever, so it's fruitless to harp on 'gun control'.
