Look to Beijing

Infant mortality rates in China is 22.1 deaths per 1,000 births. In the USA it is 6.4.

Life expectancy in China is 72.9, and in the USA it is 78.

Doesn't sound like such an ideal place to me.

and who wants to live in a place where your government can tell you how many kids you can have?

Such a shame that septics are unable to respond without childish obscenities.
Ji lan sin!

My name is ironic reference to USA racism against Chinese. USA exploited Chinese terribly to build infrastructures and coined offensive term "yellow peril" to engender hatred.

China's economy still booming in the world financial crisis, and will make a great example for the other nations.

It will be up and coming. My friends are teaching in China. They love it.
Each claims that China is vilified by our government beyond what is true.
I think you will see more freedoms as China comes into the 21st century and assumes the role she has been given at this point in time.

I choose to live in the USA because I still believe it to be a unique model of citizenry, a blending pot where, for the most part, different races, nationalities and religions co-exist in peace.

Excuse me? Most Chinese do not share the fixation on personal income ..... ?
Which part of China are YOU from? There is no country on the planet that displays more greed than China. No people in existence that obsess over wealth to the extent of the Chinese.
Since 1988 when Deng Shao Ping suggested that it was good to be rich the Chinese have embraced both greed, capitalism and corruption with arms open wider than a yanks arse.
What you CAN say is that China has accomplished more in those 21 years than any other society would have believed possible and that the driving force has been greed.

Most Chinese do not share the fixation on personal income that has brought capitalism to it's knees.

As a nation, we enjoy 8% growth while America falls into depression.

The government has halted the yuan’s gains against the dollar and plans to cut export taxes to zero to protect our trade surplus.

Don't be so quick to dismiss India either. They're posting yearly growth rates comparable to China and they have more economic freedom. It's quite likely that in 10-20 years they will have a larger economy than the whole of the EU.

Right on, what India has done in the last 10 years is nothing short of incredible. IMHPO

The Fangs must be an exception.

Egypt has a recorded history of about 7000 years (to 5000 BC), but I don't hear too much about it these days...

Give it time, what goes around comes around...or maybe it will be Kazikistan that rises from the dust!
