LOL... ABC thinks I'm an activist...

I do not get my news from those programs, sorry, no gotcha this time. I like to watch BBC on cable if I watch the news, then my other sources are both conservative and liberal which I read online. They are delivered by email, it is quite a handy system.

Well that explains your ignorance.......thanks

I was a delegate at our state assembly yesterday.

Last night I heard them say: "Nearly 4,000 Republican Activists gathered..." to decide on who would be on the primary ballot.

I'm still laughing. Activists?

Id say a delegate at a Party assembly fits into this category...

Activist - 1. an especially active, vigorous advocate of a cause, especially a political cause.

Well Damo if you were not elected and you are promoting a specific political agenda then you are an activist. Having said that, what is wrong with being a political activist? I was a Republican activist, off and on, from 1981 to 1996.

That would be incorrect.

ac·tiv·ist [ak-tuh-vist]
noun
1.
an especially active, vigorous advocate of a cause, especially a political cause.
adjective
2.
of or pertaining to activism or activists: an activist organization for environmental concern.
3.
advocating or opposing a cause or issue vigorously, especially a political cause: Activist opponents of the president picketed the White House.

Unless your definition of "a cause or issue" is different than mine an assembly is not full of activists. It is a delegation duly elected to represent others.
I don't know Damo. Accepting a position as a delegate strikes me as being a pretty vigorous form of advocacy to me. I mean what's your definition of vigorous advocacy? Sitting in the middle of the street, pouring gasoline over yourself and setting yourself on fire?

You are certainly no Bill Ayers lol, or what's that whore wife of his name, you know the ones who attacked their own country.

Seriously unrealistic, this would mean every politician was an "activist"... It makes the word meaningless. I was elected to go to and vote at an assembly, not to "converge on Boulder" to protest some specific position. Not every person involved in politics is an activist, that's just silly.

The way they reported it, it wasn't a convention/assembly... it was some form of protest to go there and Boulder was "shocked" that we "converged on Boulder". The reality was far different, it was simply an assembly, one that we have every election year, it was planned, and like every convention/assembly had security, etc. I wasn't there advocating one specific opinion in any special fashion, I was simply representing people who elected me.

I think its funny that you're upset about being described as an activist. Not every activist is a protestor and not every gathering of activists is a protest. And you did converge in Boulder in the ordinary sense of the word "converge." I'm guessing the "shocked" you have there in quotes appeared nowhere in the report (and since you said "gathered" in the OP, I'm skeptical that "converge" was even used).

What did you do at the assembly? I'm assuming you debated the merits of and voted for particular candidates. That's advocacy. You're activists.

Also, too, what's the big fucking deal anyways?

Not really "upset"... just laughing. The way it was reported was funny. We as "activists" went and "converged on Boulder"...

That was not the way I read it.

After I read this:

I was somewhat incredulous that it described this (click the video):

Of course there's nothing wrong with it...Damo is trying to gin up another controversy and further smear the MSM.

I'll have to get the sound from the report on the radio. Since that is what I'm working with here. A personal report of what I heard on the radio. It made me laugh. It was funny, dude. They even used the word "converged"... it was awesome.

I'm an activist! I work hard at the political issue of voting for some dude to make it to the Primary ballot for everybody to vote on to run against Hickenlooper. We planned a convergence on Boulder in order to make our voices heard to nobody at all and to set a ballot so that other people can choose between 4 people! We activated our grass roots to ensure that we pared down the field from 7 to 4! (2 got signatures and on the ballot that way, 2 made it on at the assembly)...

It's a supremely important issue that I'm always activisting (coined my own word, I like it) for!

Happen to recall the call letters of that station you heard the report on?

It wouldn't happen to be a station with a specific "political agenda" now would it?
