This thing will be gotten to the bottom of at some point. But it won’t be until after the election. The CDC admission that only 6% of COVID deaths were directly from COVID should be a huge story.

That’s roughly 10,000 COVID deaths.

The counting with this thing has been dodgy from the get-go. The CDC needs to make it clear that their death recordings have been done in a way that is distinct from recording flu deaths. For whatever reasons. Or they can be content with the conspiracy theories; because it’s sure *appears as though* they are trying to get the highest figure possible.

In an election year.

Epidemiologists are experts at epidemiology but pure layman at economics. Epidemiologists know jack squat about the social and health costs of lockdowns.

Epidemiologists only know if we do X then Y might happen—with the virus.

What got this fiasco started was Fauci, Birx and pretty much everyone else, getting sucked into the outputs of spurious computer models. And they scared the shit out of everyone with them. Including Trump. Trump would normally be jumping straight-legged at the prospect of shutting down a booming economy—but not when keeping it open could cost *millions* of lives.

So, Trump did what *any* President would do and went along with whatever Fauci, Birx, NIH and the CDC recommended. And the results were nothing short of disastrous. People we’re prevented from being with dying loved ones; weddings could only be a preacher and the couple; people’s health was put on hold while the elective procedures were shut down; churches were closed; healthy people were confined to their homes; kids are just now getting back to school. Sports, cancelled. The only thing truly ‘open’ was protesting and riots. It’s literally a moral outrage.

All for an epidemic that could have claimed as few as 20,000 lives—depending on how you want to count deaths.

Mark it down: at some point this business is going to get a really hard look.

YEP.....there is a great essay here about how doing things right matters, performance matters, understanding what you are doing to the best of your ability and then being willing to do the work is critical for maintaining civilization.

Those who dont will pay in degraded lives, as will their kids/grandkids/unborn.

We used to try to focus for our kids.

Now we live at their expense.

We leave them our bills.

Because we suck.

Nice try at changing the subject. The premise of this study was that lockdowns and masks don't work. The premise has now been proven completely false in multiple states. Lockdowns are not 'all that'. Lockdowns slow the spread of the virus. Can you ever make an honest point? Is that too much to ask?
