LMAO @ California Republicans

Yeah, that could be, but his label is still Republican and he didn't make good on his promises!

They need to start taxing marijuana, it is their biggest cash crop! It has overtaken corn in the USA! We are such a stoopid nation when it comes to some things...

No, but the legislature is and always has been run by the Democrats. And many spending problems were voted on by the people themselves in initiatives. Arnold has fortunately actually vetoed some things that could have made our problems even worse. So he hasn't really cut shit like he promised he would but he has tried and been rejected by the legislature and the voters. So I give Arnold partial credit for effort. The legislature wants to continue to give large raises to public employees and then tax the citizens more to pay for it. That's how our state works. Thus the problems we face today. Arnold doesn't have the power to stop it.

Why?

That's not good economic sense and it's not mandatory either. We're should do what's right, and not force states to cut education and infrastructure spending. That would be an economic disaster.

where in the founding of this country was it ever thought that the federal government is a bank? it is lousy economic sense to treat the federal government as a bank.

if you can't afford it, don't spend it. there are also plenty of other methods of raising money that does not require more power to the federal government, bonds for starters....

it is an economic disaster to have services and infrastructure you can't pay for.

HAHA

Awesome top. :clink:

What's the democrats argument for needing to be able to blow up the world 4x over and having 400+ overseas bases.

You'd prob get to 70% if you cut all that. Chicken little Obama will not do it, so the poor suffer yet again.

Word, me too closing in on 49 and have started to partake again and it's been 20yrs of almost not doing it.
It most def helps with sleeping, pain, relaxation to just name a few.

Arthritis is starting to disfigure my fingers. I was taking so much Tylenol to get rid of the pain, I was afraid of liver damage. I have found a strain of marijuana that does it so much better without the fear of liver damage!

it's already an economic disaster, shit for brains, and if you had the ability to pull your liberal brain out of your ass, you'd realize that unchecked spending is the reason why cali is in its predicament anyway. so tell me how it makes any fucking sense to make the federal government do the same as california did? it doesn't. now who's the idiot? :pke:

I read once there are 765 overseas bases. Some of them so secret that even most of Congress doesn't know about them!
This number was from Chalmers Johnson's book. this number doesn't count the bases being built in the "new Europe" and in Iraq!

I am in my second childhood and Tops plan sounds good to me! I think I am one of the oldest members of JPP! and proud of it! I am also proud of the fact that I smoke marijuana. It isn't just for teens, anymore!

Frog, don't you have children though? I'm not judging but I don't even know of any regular tobacco smokers with kids who are proud of smoking.
Although I don't favor any government action against drugs (so long as I am not responsible for the consequences like free universal healthcare or programs to pay for it), I have to admit, being so cavalier about it bugs my conscience.

Your a narrow minded simpleton.
Try reading and if you expand your knowledge base you may find that steel trap beginning to open up.

Do you have kids, if so do you want them in jail for pot?

My children are all grown adults and my grandchildren aren't around when I partake!

Marijuana is far less harmful than alcohol, why would it bother my conscience? I don't see it as being any different than having a couple of drinks.

I have only one adult child who smokes. The rest did at one time, but for various reasons, they don't partake right now. None of them knew I smoked until they were 18. My oldest daughter suspected, she once told me. My youngest son claimed he never knew until I started to do it openly in front of them.

I am an advocate for marijuana. I work on the state level to help change laws. I also belong to organizations and do my part on the federal level.

I see marijuana as being very beneficial for me. I have no problem telling people I meet that I partake. My friends all know and when I was diagnosed with breast cancer I gave up all pretense and am very open about it. It was an absolute blessing during Chemo and I wanted to share with all the poor people who were wasting away from the effects of chemo and non-marijuana use.

They will have to pry my marijuana from my fingers. I will not give it up without a fight and I will even do the jail time if it ever comes to that, but Raven vs the State of Alaska makes it unlikely that they will bust me in my own home. Alaska's laws are pretty lenient for the small time user like myself.

Why don't you read what I wrote again, I said I do NOT favor government action against drugs.

STUPID

The main problem, you fucking idiot, is that nearly every state legislature has an amendment that says they can't deficit spend. Which is an awful thing for our economy, being that huge amounts of state spending will be spent during boom times and state spending will be cut hugely during deficits. Economic nonsense. The only reasonable solution is for the federal government to provide a line of credit.

They can't defecit spend but can borrow thru a line of credit????
What did I miss here?

Well that's your choice and I have heard a few say that pot helps them through cancer treatment, but I've always wondered how many realize that it also increases cancer:
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS/content/NWS_1_1x_Smoking_Marijuana_May_Increase_Cancer_Risk.asp

It also has 4 times the tar content of cigarettes and other bad affects that I can't remember offhand. Let's face it, when it comes to illegal substances there are far less studies than on legal substances. It's difficult to gauge the risk, but I'm not preachy, just I wouldn't be cavalier about it, I personally hope my kids don't bother with smoking anything. I've never had the urge.

you go froggie
I'm trying to do the same down here in redneck uneducated Louisiana where we still jail MJ users at way to high a rate.

I think IQ is directly related to MJ understanding

LOL, exactly, starting to realize what I was saying all those years about how the Dems will be worse and not even give a slight shit about bigger deficits?

Waterdork is part of this strange suddenly resurfacing crowd who have revived Keynesian policies that never did more than provide temporary relief and delay the inevitable and have been discredited for decades, until now.
And on top of that, even supposing good times come back again for the long term from deficit spending, when have any Democrats ever tried to cut spending in the good times? They all say things like "In a society as rich as ours, no one should go without <some new gov spending idea>".
Bottom line is they increase gov spending in good or bad times.

Ahh but Reagan proved the defecit did not matter remember.
Republicans have been doing their best to outspend the dems and cut taxies at the same time.
