I've gotta admit, I do find Rush's continued popularity to be something of a marvel. Usually, guys like him crash & burn after a few years (see: Morten Downey Jr.)

I don't get it, really. His schtick is old, and as far as conservative voices go, there are certainly smarter ones.

She's a mess. Rush at least seems like a normal human being, who happens to be a hateful mysoginist & narcissist. Ann is pretty crazy.

Fortunately, she seems to be fading a bit, unlike Rush.
 
I enjoy Rush, the guy is a great entertainer. I almost always disagree with his stick but I like to listen to his rants. I also know him to be generous to several needy causes.

Actually, Rush is different.......he isn't funny, hes isn't particularly right all the time, he isn't great at predicting future events of outcomes......
what the hell is his attraction.....
I felt the same way about Howard Stern and Imus and other clowns....they have no particular talent as comedians or insight on issues
yet pinheads continue to hold up Rush as some sort of icon of the right wing.....or Keith Olbermann and Ed Shultz as left wing leaders.....
They are not left or right wing "leaders" by any stretch.....they are mouth pieces out for their own gain......
Not particularly smart, not particularly funny and have little to boast about in the talent department....oh well...go figure.

Why Rush's continued popularity? For me, it was all answered during the South Carolina Republican debate. When a room full of Repubs gave a standing ovation to a family man who feigned outrage at being questioned about his so-called family values (adultery, divorces, open marriage) it was clear the values they held. They knew he cheated on his first wife while she was ill. They knew he cheated on his second wife. They knew if he became President the First lady would be a woman who had slept with a married man and contributed to a divorce.....yet that's who and what they supported.

We witnessed the "authentic" conservative, Republican. Not one. Not a small group. But a convention center room filled to capacity.

They don't listen to Rush as one would listen to, say, Bill Maher or Jon Stewart for their comedy schtick. They listen to Rush for the anger and hate. They can relate to the his skewed moral values and ethics. Rush Limbaugh is them. Rush is saying what the typical Republican conservative is thinking.

How about having a baby with your mistress while you wife is dying of cancer, ie Sen. Edwards......is that liberal family values ?

Divorce ?.....is this against family values......?.....don't Democrats (liberals) get divorced ? Does that mean the ones that do have no family values ????

Do they believe people like Gingrich has been "born again" and is a good guy now or do they really not give a damn? If it's the latter then all this morals and values talk is just rhetoric, right?

Take the SC convention, for example. Did the people stand up because they felt John King was picking on a guy who has turned a page in his life and is now a good man or did that not enter into it?

Defend what? What is there to defend? As we've heard, the liberal loud-mouths are far more base and vile than Rush ever dreamed of being... there isn't anything here to defend. What there is, is an exposure of the double-standard liberal hypocrites have, which is a real problem for them...once again. And what we see now is this really pathetic attempt to save face, after yet another 'master plan' has self-destructed in the face of liberalism.
