Organized religion can cause great harm to a society if you allow sociopaths to run that religion.

the people at he head of some of these organized religious groups are sociopaths.

look a your history

It is he weakness of this type of belief.

when you need a sky daddy to feel safe sometimes the person who runs the sky daddy project is not a good person.

not so good people can get control of any sky daddy project.

this goes for ALL sky daddy myths.

want to end the evil of evil mens ( ususally men) owning your sky daddy projects?

don't organize your sky daddy belief in a way that gives a few people control of your sky daddy projects

Default Arab development: Self-doomed to failure

http://www.economist.com/node/1213392

"•Freedom. This deficit, in the UNDP's interpretation, explains many of the fundamental things that are wrong with the Arab world: the survival of absolute autocracies; the holding of bogus elections; confusion between the executive and the judiciary (the report points out the close linguistic link between the two in Arabic); constraints on the media and on civil society; and a patriarchal, intolerant, sometimes suffocating social environment.

The area is rich in all the outward trappings of democracy. Elections are held and human-rights conventions are signed. But the great wave of democratisation that has opened up so much of the world over the past 15 years seems to have left the Arabs untouched. Democracy is occasionally offered, but as a concession, not as a right."

this racist banned me from his thread because he knew I would destroy his stupid in seconds

^ well reasoned post. so called political Islam is on the rise, but then I don't see any inherent advantage in democracy
except it being the will of the people
(more or less) -a benign dictatorship still gives a quality of life to it's people..

was the Arab Spring really more then just about Tunisia food riots?
Maybe for some places like Egypt where there was some desire by a relatively prosperous middle class.
But that notion was quickly disabused . el-Sisi provides security/stability ..

anyways it's none of the west's business, and Obama doesn't help like when he slapped on sanctions

Arabs are now a race unto themselves?

Maybe in the sense of how Nazis looked down upon Jews as an inferior race, Persians similarly look down upon Arabs.

However, once again, she-who-spits-in-the-face-of-black-men finds herself in unenviable company.

I was his friend

I cared for him and found him to be real as a person.

he weren't perfect

No one of us are.

he was good

he was funny

he was not hate filled

now hes gone

he felt he needed to leave

I wish I could have been there to tell him he didn't need to leave.

I wish I could have been there to tell him he would have had other moments of pure joy on this dirt ball.

I wish I could have gotten him massively stoned an talked him away from the edge.

I will feel hose feelings until I'm forced over the edge myself.

I will fight against the dying of the light.

I wish I could have helped him fight too

Jesus Desh..are you that hard up for topics where you gotta produce a competing thread?

In the course of societal advantages there isn't any inherent advantage to a democracy - look at China's rise by an oligarchy.
How would a Jeffersonian democracy help the masses instead?

Stupid people, as evidence by the idiot opening this thread, are very upset and frustrated when they see organizations like the UN expose the utter and absolute failings of arab muslims.

They think that by screaming "racist!" that they will be able to somehow deflect the criticism away from their muslim pets, but no one is accepting such nonsense any more.

In the near term, when I have time I will post some additional UN arab muslim development reports showing how backwards, diseased, and corrupt arab muslim societies are, and how islam is a cancer that has led to nothing but war, violence, terrorism and oppression.
