the examples are endless - abortion is a great one

Nobody claims Germany is heartless for limiting abortion after 12 weeks, but look how the media and famous celebrities acts when we limit to 15 weeks. They frame this as a battle for the ages.

They also are more prone to making laws national - which means you can't really escape them, and as an individual has such a tiny voice in a national election, hopelessness mounts.
