Yes...it WAS conservative, "tough on crime" types who lambasted Liberals for YEARS for coddling criminals, being "soft on crime" and subsequently created all these "zero tolerance" laws.

lol....incredibly stupid.....zero tolerance was created because liberals were afraid of unfairly accusing someone of wrong doing.....this way they didn't have to be "judgmental"....they could say "we're sorry....we really don't think there's anything wrong in the way you knifed your classmates but the law says we have to get rid of you".......

that was my bad. I was trying to ask a question and forgot the 'wasn't' part. after looking it up, Texas was actually the first state to do such in 74.

also, to continue your own posted information you seemed to have left off...

The initiative proposed to the voters had the title of Three Strikes and You're Out, referring to de facto life imprisonment after being convicted of three felonies"

I wish it were as simple as a lie. But it goes much deeper than that, and it is much more dangerous than mere lies to a free and open society. We know conservatives have very little or no capacity for empathy. And the same part of their brains is also incapable of self examination and self moderation. The same person that is blaming liberals for zero tolerance exhibits zero tolerance for gays in the previous post. And justifies his zero tolerance of gays because HE DEEMS it "deviate behavior"

Do you have me on IA, Pimp? Maybe you should go back a couple of pages if you don't, because you'll see where I posted an article with George Bush extolling the virtues of zero tolerance.

And face the fact: The majority of state legislators and governors, the entities that actually create laws regarding our schools and appoint their managers, are republican. Do you really think they'd let the democrats do anything?

Hell, here in Florida, our Governor cut teacher salaries across the board by over 2k a couple of years ago. (Of course, now that his approval rating's in single digits, he's giving some of it back)

I've posted facts showing the origin of the phrase, and documented the administrations that first used it to define their stance on issues.
