Two witnesses to Monday’s fatal shooting on South Beach say police tried to intimidate them and force them to give up an up-close video of the incident. Police officials say the couple has not lodged a complaint.

The video ends as more officers are heard yelling expletives, telling the couple to turn the video off and get out of the car.

“They put guns to our heads and threw us on the ground,” Davis said.

Benoit said a Miami Beach officer grabbed his cell phone, said “You want to be [expletive] Paparazzi?” and stomped on his phone before placing him in handcuffs and shoving the crunched phone in Benoit’s back pocket. He said the couple joined other witnesses already in cuffs and being watched by officers, who were on the lookout for two passengers who, police believe at the time, had bailed out of Herisse’s car. It is still not known whether any passengers were in the car.

the video has gone viral and police will not investigate the atrocities committed by its own officers because a simple complaint wasn't filed?

I'm 44 years old and except for my pre-teen years when my mother needed them to keep my father from beating her, i've always been able to protect myself, never needing police protection.

Are you excusing this kind of illegal and abusive behavior because they provide a protection role?

what protection? I called the police about identity theft and had records of online purchases made by the perp but I never heard a thing back from the lazy police. They couldn't even trace an IP address
 
This is the miami beach murder, caught on video.


The police version of this shooting is that the driver attempted to run over several police officers. This video quite clearly shows that the car did not move an inch.

But the main questions surround Herisse, who police describe as a long-time felon who tried to run over several officers before he was shot and killed.

At first, police claimed Herisse was firing out the window, but then it took them two-and-a-half days to find the gun in his car.

And several days after that finding, Miami Beach Police Chief Carlos Noriega said it was found in the floorboard behind the driver’s seat, according to the Miami Herald.

He also said they have not determined if the gun had been shot nor did he say if spent shell casings were found inside or outside Benoit’s car.

As for why it took so long for them to find the gun, Noriega said they needed to get legal consent to search the car, but that’s a little difficult to believe considering they had to enter the car to remove Herisse’s body.

that bolded part is an outright lie. no police force has ever needed to get legal consent to a car that they've fired a hail of bullets in to.
