given the facts and events of the last year and half who has fully established himself as one of the biggest liars in American history? The guy has earned next to zero credibility

Did they find those million plus people the Don said attended his Inauguration yet? How about the thousands in Jersey who celebrated 9/11? And it goes on and on and on

"Believe me folks, believe me"

Odd, isn't it, how Mr Trump's supporters can't see his manifest inferiority to anyone honest?

That's why they are refered to as kool aid drinkers

They don't care what he says or does, to them he represents someone who can " stick it to the DC elites ," "show them there pencil necked geeks," they've been living off talk radio for decades and their whole world is a melodrama, Trump just fills the role

No, idiot. Not as compared to any of those. None of these people are players here.

Pathetic diversionary attempt.

I'm sort of amazed at the lengths that Trump's supporters will go to in order to rationalize his pathology.

He really doesn't tell the truth; it's just not his way. Even when he's telling something that could be called a "truth," he's exaggerating it.

And this is well documented. Birtherism, Ted Cruz's father, Obama wiretapping him, and on & on & on. Trump is the textbook pathological liar.

If Trump hadn't spent the majority of his 70-year-life proving that he's a rotten liar and bullshit artist, there might be some contest as to who to believe between him and Comey.

It's funny to hear conservatives talk about GW Bush now - most distance themselves from supporting him, and certainly from supporting the Iraq War. Not like 10 or so years ago, when I'd commonly see bumper stickers saying "I love God, Country and George W. Bush" (which I always found a bit disturbing).

Can only imagine how it will be for Trump when he's out of office. It will be easier to win the lottery than it will be to find a Trump voter.

It certainly has been interesting to watch Republicans evolve (or de-evolve) from being Bush era neocons, to being libertarians (the opposite of neocons), to finally abandoning ideology and submitting to Trumpism. It's almost as if these people are told what to believe.

No more odd than any brainwashed cult like creationists, Muslim terrorists and assorted delusionals. It's the same irrationality that allows a rabid sports fan to shrug when a bad call is made in his team's favor while one that goes against him makes him scream for justice.
Some humans are more susceptible to passion and prejudice and blind allegiance. They tend to be uneducated, irrational people with lower IQs. They therefore are attracted to Republican tribal politics, societal exclusiveness, groupthink, hate and sidelining reason.

It's a spectrum. That's why the current DSM includes a subset of delusional thought disorder of those who simply have grossly overvalued ideas. That malady allows for those who are crazed Republican sociopaths who enjoy lying to themselves about Trump's nature and yet still
can show up at the factory and punch the timeclock and weld shit or work a phone bank or even lead the boardroom. High functioning delusionals. It doesn't rise to the level of full tilt padded cell materail, but it's a form of crazy all the same, and in this instance, it has resulted in the US President being a narcissitci prick liar crook fraud who cant be trusted to give truthful directions to a tourist, much less lead the free world.

Sad how it's come to this, isn't it? I agree with what you said but it can be turned around 180 deg and the same applies for those that worshiped hrc also.
Must have something to do with social media , what passes for news nowadays, and reality tv is all I can figure. All make people incredibly stupid, imo.

Social media could be feeding confirmation bias by tailoring content to users. This could lead to to hyper-partisans. News outlets have always been like they are right now. Mostly, it's just that people are tribal in nature and they choose a party and stick with it. Or they give up on the whole thing and go party. LOL

If trump is calling Comey a liar that means his testimony given under oath yesterday is lies. So when Comey stated under oath that he told trump he wasn't under investigation, I guess that was a lie.

Is that what trumpists want to believe, or will they pick and choose their "lies"?

Most Trumpers know for a fact that Trump is one of the biggest liars on the planet, but since he is lying for them, they're fine with it.

CNN had a great panel yesterday - all Trump voters. The interviewer asked them to raise their hands if they thought Trump was lying, and then to raise their hands if they thought Comey was lying.

No one raised their hand for Trump, and 4 out of 12 raised it for Comey. The interviewer was like, wait - you have to think one or the other. You can't think both guys are telling the truth.

The answers he got were along the lines of (paraphrasing here) "Derrrrrrr....."
