Let's say Trump had nothing to do with the violent attack on the Capitol Jan. 6.

Wrong again, Marty.

President Trump told his supporters to protest peacefully.

Claim: Trump Said to "Peacefully and Patriotically" March to the Capitol

Fact check by Newsweek: Mostly true

Hmmm. Did Newsweek say, "Mostly true"? No.

Trump's comments taken together made one of his usual muddles. As Newsweek did put it, "Trump's call to display strength shows a possible contradiction in Trump's message to his crowd before the certification vote".
When put in context of that day, however, the Capitol attack becomes entirely predictable.

By the time the rally ended the Senate was already in session. How then were Trump's "peaceful" protestors going to make "their voices" heard? By applying for visitor passes? The building was closed. And locked, and on that morning in anticipation of the trouble that for weeks had been brewing on line more heavily guarded than usual, though not guarded enough as it turned out. And Trump wasn't the only speaker. Others close to the President and known to the crowd preceded his speech and fed into its already raised passions before Trump closed out the program. The mob by then was so stirred up the Secret Service refused the President's instruction to take him with the protestors, some of whom were armed, and instead drove him to the White House. There he closed himself off to the world and watched the attack on TV, ignoring pleas to do something to stop it.

Let a jury sort out his responsibility.

If Trump had nothing to do with the violence after his rally, wouldn't he be the first to want everyone prosecuted?

Wouldn't he testify before the House Select Committee to help them arrest and prosecute everyone involved?

Yes.

Not necessarily. He would have nothing to offer because as you suggested he had no involvement. I guess he could go and repeat his speech saying to make your voices heard peacefully and patriotically. I wasn't involved either so should I be brought to the committee to testify?

This is nothing but sophistry in the form of Kafkatrapping. It's a meager attempt at a variant of Why would he take the 5th if he wasn't guilty...

Before his rally. Get your tenses right.
Yes. Trump wants them prosecuted. Democrats don't. They fund and support BLM and Antifa.
