No, your attitude of "me first" is not projected on younger generations.

"Rugged individualism" isn't a Millennial thing, it's a Boomer thing. And it's a Boomer thing because you wanted desperately to emulate your parents, who really struggled. But you took the wrong lessons away from that and celebrated the individual rather than society.

I never once said I hated Boomers.

What I said was that Boomers need to step aside and cede leadership to the youth.

Pelosi is doing exactly that...hopefully Schumer will follow suit.

Being a straight, white, male automatically guarantees you a leg up in any circumstance you can dream of; from job applicant, to loan applicant, to lease applicant, to even how the justice system treats you.

The system is deliberately set up to accommodate straight white men, and not taking advantage of that is laziness and/or stupidity.

So I have no sympathy for Conservatives who squandered the institutional advantages they were handed.

And when it comes to the whiny resentment Conservatives express toward POC who are trying to use the system, I roll my fuckin eyes because I know that resentment comes from a place of entitlement and privilege that was never fully realized because of the inherent personal laziness and/or stupidity of that Conservative.

Life didn't turn out the way you were promised, straight white guy? Well, boo-fucking-hoo.

What wasn't welcome was thinking those votes bought you a seat at the table.

Everything Obama tried to accomplish was ultimately undermined by Democrats. "Conservative" Reagan Democrats that Clinton had triangulated in the 90's, who ended up turning their backs on Obama just two years later.

Now, blue dogs are extinct and no one is convinced that Joe Manchin is a liberal Democrat whose vision aligns with that of the rest of the party.

I see. So anyone born poor and white is automatically a political conservative in your eyes. And it's ok for minorities to work in the same job for 30 years but not for white people. Like we said, any white people who teach for 30 years are failures who serve no purpose in living.

You triangulated and postured your rugged individualism and moderate bonafides.

You had no big ideas!

A big idea is the Green New Deal.

A big idea is Medicare for All.

A big idea is free public colleges.

A big idea is withdrawing all our troops from overseas military bases.

THOSE are big ideas.

A tax break for a small business owners isn't a big idea. Fiscal stimulus by way of tax cuts isn't a big idea. Three strikes laws aren't big ideas. Reforming welfare to make it harder for people to qualify isn't a big idea.

Those are all small ideas.

When you fail to inspire people, they aren't going to show up to vote for you.

It came off as phony and disingenuous, which is why when 2010 rolled around, no one voted for the Blue Dogs.
