that way, it could be viewed as a holiday that would take the releiogn out of the day, and would be honoring the masn; we christians would still view it a a religious event, but then we could all say 'merry jesus day' and not feel bad about it!

i mean, even leaving relgion out of it, you liberls shoudl love to honor a man of his philosophy. you're always claiming he wasa liberal. what coudl be better than honoring none other than Jesus for his philosophy alone, leaving the religion out of it.

look at it this way, we don't havge any holidays that honor anyone more philosopically worhty that Jesus, do we? We have the rev dr martin luther king, who was a christian preacher who took the philosophy of Jesus and worked wonders with it, and we honor him.

we hoinor lincoln (overseer of the most deadly war in our history),and the slave owner washington for presidents day; and what needs to be said about the native maerican enslaver and kiler coumbu?

and thanksgiving honor the prigrims who eventually sluaghtered even more native americans

And vetereans day and memorial day honors those who went to places like vietnam to become rapers and baby killers.

and not tomention labot day who honors those who violently strike agianst businesses when they dont' get their way.

and don't forget new years, where we ignore the timekeeping of the jews and chinese; we don't have a problem offending them, i guess....

when you take all this into account, it is undoubtably Jesus who really is the most deserving a day honoring him philosphically as the man, even without the religion attached to it.

Merry Jesus Day to all!!!!!

I think we should put the "Doctor" in, just to keep things clear. As in "Merry Hey Doctor Seuss Day!" I mean, "Hey Seuss" is just a little too vague, you know?

you know jose? he really likes america. very friendly people here.

why, at the baseball game, when he arrived, everyone int eh stadium stood up and asked "Jose can you see?"

The problem is that you cant sepperate Jesus with Christanity. You can sepperate others, like Martin Luthor King, Jr. with his religen.

Not true; rev dr martin luther king's success hinged on the use of christian principles to advance his cause. if he wasn't a christian using the philosopy of jesus, we may never had heard of him.

so, if the governement is willing to separate rev dr martin luther king fron his religion that formed his movement, then it should be a no brainer to separate jesus and his philosophy from his religion, too..

Ill explain it to you, MLK is not a God, nor is he belived to be or claimed to be the personification of God. He was not the founder of any religen. To not understand the difference between Jesus's connection to Christanity and MLK's is idiotic.
