What is it that bothers you so much about that distinction? We're clearly delineated differently. Hominids only include all species of human and relatives closer than the Chimpanzee, however hominidae is the point above that in the chart, which includes four offshoots, which we listed above.

Do you believe that this makes you mentally equal to a Gorilla or something? Obviously not, the hominids were more successful and far more intelligent, the size of the brain alone will tell you that. We're very different species, but clearly primate.

/shrugs....I didn't evolve from a common ancestor of a gorilla or chimpanzee......why should I consider myself part of the family?......

So you think God made them as practice and planted genetic evidence in them so that unwashed unbelievers would find it more difficult to believe the Creation myth? It seems far more likely to me that God would use the material available and simply "advance" until he reached his "goal"...

Of course I don't think that God's "image" means two hands and a belly button, if it did then all Apes are created in his image.

I think his "image" meant the capacity to understand... That if there was a god who created the universe he simply used evolution to create species with the capacity to understand its creation...

I think ignoring god's creation is a mistake. That part of what we are and what we are here for is to learn the "how"... In your book we ate from the tree of knowledge, the only thing that then made us different from your god is directly stated by your god, we don't live forever... god took that tree away so that mankind would not "Be like us"...

We have the capacity to understand and to do... If I believed in your book this would drive me to science in a way that couldn't be stopped... It's his first command to name all the "animals"... How many still exist on other planets that remain unnamed? We have billions of years of work ahead of us. Get to it, it's far more satisfying than rejecting knowledge.

I asked you to explain how absence of belief is different than disbelief and you did so by simply excluding disbelief in the definition of absence of belief. That is clearly circular and a weak evasion.

Regardless, semantic arguments are not compelling. I have proven you wrong with material facts.

Bullshit. I was not playing a game of gotcha. It has been argued that humans were properly classed as apes for several decades. I did not know you were educated with nova back in the days when Bryan argued that humans were not mammals.

yes, you did... by your own link it wasn't until about 2005 that biologists started categorizing humans as apes.

I do note how intellectually dishonest you are though, not only do you fail to admit it, but you try to lump me in with Nova and Bryan in some vain attempt to justify your own idiocy.

That said, I should expect that from a coward like you who refuses to back up his own accusations and instead runs away screaming like a two year old throwing a tantrum
