True....but most critics agree it made for a better debate....questions were asked and answered, rebutted and then rebutted again......
I felt like you in the first 10 minutes too, but then came to conclusion it was just more informative than letting the clock rule.
But, to each his own....
The next debate is a town meeting style format....kind of a free for all.....
You KNOW BOTH sides will have their planted partisans in the audience to throw all the fire bomb questions that would make the candidates look bad if
they themselves asked them.....I expect to see more personal attacks and attempts at character assassination from the audience.....

Debates televised on corporate media are nothing more than free campaign ads for the duopoly that supports and cooperates with the corporatocracy - the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. That's why there were so many questions that weren't asked.

If the purpose of the debate were to showcase the candidates for the voters, then all candidates would be included and questions wouldn't be limited by the corporate-friendly sponsors.

Mitt's questions were pretty good and his answers even better....
 
To be more accurate it should say that Lehrer's moderation skills are being criticized by those who want an excuse as to why their candidate do so poorly.

The spokeswoman added that the network "collected many questions, emails, calls, petitions, etc., separated them by topic and delivered them to Mr. Lehrer on a somewhat rolling basis."

Jim asks what he wants to ask...nobody is going to tell him what to do....hes running to show as he sees fit.

In simple terms, Lehrer asks ANYTHING he wants to ask....and if you saw the debate he did just that, asking
questions very specific to the some of the answers that were given.

Now stop making a fool of yourself...

Incorrect, he spent his time telling everybody at the beginning of the debate that all of the questions were picked by him and had nothing at all to do with the Debate Committee.
 
Personally I liked that debate far better than more controlled debates of the past. The conversation helped to define how each candidate reacts and acts. I also liked the level of the debate, rather than filled entirely with silly "gotcha" there was a conversation about actual policy with much less "gotcha" nonsense mixed in. And yeah, I still would have liked it had my guy sucked. It's been a long time since we've had anybody with any debate ability on my side of things.

I think that all Mitt really had to do was show that he wouldn't fall on his face and that he was somebody that people could picture in the office. He did that and more.

Yeah, I wish that they'd have any candidate that has their name on the ballot in all 50 states. I remember watching Admiral Stockdale... Man, that was entertainment.

This is what this stuff is all about though. I love debates, etc. I'd love to see Gary Johnson in there, considering he's likely where my vote will land. Every time I think I'll vote republican because it is "so important" I wind up voting L when I get there because it is hard to give up what I believe to vote for a slightly less spendthrift candidate with much of the same constitutional issues I dislike so much.

Only one candidate will get rid of the PATRIOT Act, for instance... No warrantless wiretapping... Constitutional government... And that is where my head and heart lies...
