grow up. take the long view. Look at the Civil War as the end of slavery if it helps.
we've managed to keep it in historical perspective for 150 years.

I don't live in the South and don't give a fuck about the South. Each state can decide for themselves whether they want icons of slavery to exist on public property.

A deflection. Many of these memorials honor individuals, and you name NAZI individuals in your comparison. Which of the NAZIs in your list are you comparing General Robert E. Lee to?
 
I wonder who should stand in front of the cameras representing the left and condemn the violence in Charlottesville by the liberal hate groups that showed up.

You have to understand that this is a longer term strategy for the left. They play long ball and win with incrementalism. Their end goal isn't toppling statues.

Their end goal is toppling this country.

It starts with taking down the confederate flag

Then it moves to statues/monuments

Then it moves to buildings names after people

Eventually we get to the original founding fathers who owned slaves. Because Threedee and Damo will be triggered by the fact that Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. And slavery being the original sin Thomas Jefferson must go so Threedee and Damo won't be reminded of slavery

Then we move to our founding documents. The Declaration of Independence will soon trigger Damo and Threedee because it was written by a slaveholder.

If you take this to its logical end it is where you end up.

Now the lefties here will claim "that is crazy tin foil talk". But it how the left operates. Do they ever stop? No.

It is time to draw the line. They will not be content with erasing the entire history of this country. That is their end goal.

Now as I said someday the leftists will reach for something Damo and Threedee actually care about. But what will be their defense? They have already become social warriors. They just don't know it

Less than 5% of the whites in the South owned slaves. Fully 3/4's of the white people of the South had neither slaves nor an immediate economic interest in the maintenance of slavery or the plantation system.

"This was written by none other than the late John Hope Franklin in From Slavery to Freedom, McGraw-Hill, 1994., p. 123. Franklin was a Harvard educated Professor Emeritus of History and Professor of Legal History at Duke University. Dr. Franklin also happened to be a Black man. This may come as an inconvient truth to some here.

So, why did they fight. As Prof. V.L. Parrington said in his Pulitizer Prize winning book Main Currents in American Thought, "slavery was only the immediate casus belli. The deeper cause was the antagonistic conceptions of the theory and functions of the political state that emerged from antagonistic economic systems."
