Laxalt staffers await the bad news

The campaign for the GOP Senate nominee in Nevada is dour as prognosticators expect that the race will imminently be called for Democratic Party incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto.

CNN's Fredricka Whitfield interviewed correspondent Rosa Flores, who was tracking the vote counting from North Las Vegas.

"You know, Fred, until a few hours ago, both campaigns were very optimistic about their chances here. Well, that changed a few hours ago," Flores reported.

Flores noted that her CNN colleague Dan Merica reported GOP strategist described the change inside Laxalt's campaign.

"They say the mood has changed inside the Adam Laxalt campaign, saying that the mood is 'awful' that they are 'shocked' and depressed and that various fractions of the Republican Party are pointing their fingers, saying that their challenger, Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez Masto could actually take the lead," Flores reported.

With control of the U.S. Senate currently projected to be 49-49, a win by Cortez Masto would give Democrats continued control of the U.S. Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris being able to cast tie-breaking votes.

Yep. She's been chipping away at a more than 20,000 deficit for days. Last night's 'mail ballots delivered by hand on election day' dump brought her 7000 votes closer, and put Kelly in the Senate.

There was quite a bit of speculation about who might have waited til election day to deliver mail votes, but they seem to be majority Blue. Couple that with the two remaining districts being Blue, and it looks very bad for MAGA.

To be clear...Dems will not have a majority unless they get 52 Senators, which they won't. 51 will neutralize either Manchin or Sinema, but not both.

I don't expect much to come out of the Senate save for judicial appointments

Manchin is still butt hurt over his fellow Republicans undoing the coal deal he made with Schumer in exchange for his 'yes' on the Inflation Reduction Act.

Not at all. It seems that the kids who refused to vote for Hillary now know that they are the reason Roe was overturned.

They came out 'Bigly' in an attempt to correct their mess, even though the damage is done. They were warned that the Supreme Court was at stake, but ...Bernie.

Exactly. They always screech instead of working on solutions.

The GOP had plenty of time to work with Democrats on inflation issue and yet they constantly refused.
