We had a fairly competitive race for governor that dragged a lot of Republicans to the polls. That's how Santos lied his way into a seat in a Blue district. That will return to Dems.
trump's illegal Census activity worked out very well for him. It made enough people scared to answer The Census. For a lack of 75 people who didn't respond, NY lost a House seat.
Couple that with an out of state special master who created new partisan districts (that were challenged in court, and are now being reworked) and we had a real mid term mess in the state. With districts moving/changing, it pitted long time popular candidates against each other.
NY should account for at least a 3 seat gain in the House next year.
Vlad Putin could learn some lessons from the Republican Party about subverting democracy.
