Al Franken isn't gay. It seems it is only "brave" when gay people do things, or if they are trans... Though, thankfully I don't remember a trans member of congress acting out lately. I don't remember one getting elected.

The #metoo movement made it so his discovery made it expedient for the left to make him go. I think if it happened at any other time he would still be there and we'd still have folks posting his image with him wearing diapers... I'm glad he's gone really. Though I don't think he was replaced by a republican, the Senate is better without him.

If she resigns she'd be replaced by a vacating committee made up of the republican central committee for her district. If they can get her to resign they probably will as an incumbent that isn't her has a chance to win that district. She does not. I don't think Santos would be replaced by a vacating committee. Though I think his constituency will vote him out next election regardless.

I don't. I suspect that you keep dragging this one guy out because it's so rare when you actually do the right thing that you don't have very many examples. Let's give you Conyers too, that one, of course, also wasn't gay.. but at least there are two. No democrat is subject to the law - so Franken should not have been forced out for sexual assault - because he is above the law and shouldn't face public scrutiny.
