My company uses union workers. They either produce & work safely or they get fired, just like nonunion workers.

The other side

The general manager of Decatur Utilities, Ray Hardin told Fox Business they were presented documents from the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers at a staging area in Virginia. The documents stated they had to affiliate with a union to work, which the crews could not agree to.
Hardin said the crews were not turned away but were made to believe that affiliating with the union was a requirement to work.
"It was and remains our understanding that agreeing to those requirements was a condition of being allowed to work in those areas," said Hardin.


The crew attempted to look for work in other areas but because a resolution could not be reached, they made the decision late Thursday night to return home.

Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks."

I've worked on plenty of Union shops. It's pretty much the same there as anywhere. You don't work, you get fired. You may get more second chances than an at will employe and they can't just fire you for any reason what so ever like an at will employee but if you don't work, your gone. There are all sorts of advantages of belonging to a union if your unskilled or work a skilled trade. The real serious disadvantage is you probably don't want to belong to one if your very ambitious. Having said that, if I were skilled in a trade and I had no ambition other than to apply my trade at the highest level, it would probably be to your advantage to belong to a trade union. You'd not only have the protections of belonging to a union but you'd have more opportunity to succeed as you would have the opportuity to obtain the mentoring and apprenticeships needed to aquire journeyman and then master tradesman status. You're economic outlook would be a whole lot brighter as most master tradesman make as much more than people with Bachelor degrees in science and technology.

Unions are neither political organisation or labour representative organisations, they are little more than gangs.
Just as street gangs use violence to protect their turf, unions use violence to protect their niche, even if others suffer as a result.

In the UK the unions have little power beyond thst of collective bargaining Maggie made sure of this.

I'm referring to US unions and their violent intolerance of all but their own local.

Look at the violent behaviour of 2 SNA members toward Douglas Kennedy last January, just because he worked for Fox.
