Use some abstract thinking here. Dems have been wholeheartedly pushing for lack of police and defunding thinking they can do a better job by themselves. That kid did some self policing. Now Democrats are panicking. They do that to themselves all the damn time.

He got attacked because he had just shot and killed an unarmed man. That tends to get peoples attention. You can't commit a murder, and then claim self defense when someone tries to disarm you.

The police wouldn't have known that until they actually went to arrest, detain, or interview him.

Someone being in violation of curfew doesn't wear a name tag with their age on it (unless they are trying to be funny). As far as the cops knew, he was local to the neighborhood, which would explain why he had the rifle.

The cops were literally called by the guy's ex who claimed he stole her car keys. You can argue that they lost control of the situation and didn't handle it properly, because that's a legitimate debate to have. But, they knew who they were looking for before they arrived.

The cops at the riot had no idea who they were looking for.

Bullshit. He stopped and talked to the cops WITH THE GUN SLUNG OVER HIS SHOULDER. It was well after curfew. You don't think the cops might have instructed him to leave the area? You think that might have been a good idea?
