Kuwait In NATO In '90?

Althea

Althea told me...
Let's be honest about this whole NATO/no fly zone issue.

The world believes that Putin is crazy enough to destroy the entire world with nukes.

If this is a NATO/Non NATO issue, why did we come to the aid of Kuwait during Desert Shield/Storm?

Because we knew that we had severe military advantages over Iraq.

We do over Russia too, but Putin might just be crazy enough to 'go there'.

Personally, I think a no fly zone is past due, and let Russia make the decision to send aircraft into Ukraine airspace or not.

I also understand the 'cooler heads' angle, but Putin is destroying the entire country with missiles. Will he really take on the entire world before someone inside his inner circle puts him out of his misery?

Tempting ... but No.

Because Texas oil men told HW Bush to do it.
Of course they did. Why not employ the same concept now? It's a humanitarian issue at this point.

At what point do we challenge Putin to escalate? We have air superiority over Putin's Bad News Bears.

We should at least see if they are willing to die for Putin's pride.

It's Russia's backyard. It's on the other side of the Planet for us.

War is boring.

The longer NATO waits, the closer it gets to no way back. He already controls a nuke plant. At what point do we stop his advances?

Never?

I believe the understood 'Negotiated' Peace is a 'West/East Ukraine'.

A*War with a bunch of Camel-Jockeys is a little different than a War with a Nuclear Weapons capability.
Do you feel like putting a 'No-Fly Zone' over North Korea?
I stated that in my OP.

So NATO's excuse for a no fly zone refusal is just cowardice?

If Putin were pushed to make the next move, do you believe his defense advisors would allow him to escalate?

That's what he's banking on.

I noticed that you don't appear to be posting from the front lines.
