I thought conservatives were against meeting w/ brutal tyrants?
Your 1st mistake is you tried thinking.

The only agreement NK will possibly make will have the elements of the Iranian model, and Trump didn't get even that.
NK wants boatloads of money in addition to security. With the Iran deal we didn't give them anything except the money we stole from them
back when they "stole" our journalists and went all revolutionary.
except that this is the first time in history a US president and the leader of NK have met.
The two leaders signed a pact.

Yep. It sure managed to elevate Kim on the world stage, didn't it?

Your 1st mistake is you tried thinking.
True. NK is arguably more brutal and oppressive.
You did?

Curious as to why no Senators attended this meeting with Trump, not one Republican.
Didn't Nixon and Kissinger meet with the Chinese back in the early 70s?
They are not. They are only permitted to produce 300 kg of U235 enriched to 3% to 4% for use in generating nuclear power. Why do the Iranians need to be able to produce weapons grade uranium 238, answer that if you can?
They certainly are. Unlike Iran they actually have nuclear weapons, are politically unstable and have a brutal Stalinist regime willing to use them. They also have a very large and strong military force where as Iran's is so weak they can't even handle a military pip squeek like Israel.no iran is different from nk.

Which is completely irrelevent as no one in their right mind wants either regime to have muclear arms. So enforceable and verifiable agreements that reduce or eliminate their nuclear arsenals are good ideas and diplomatic engagement to accomplish that are very, very good things. To say one agreement is good and the other lousy where one (Iran) has lived up to their agreements and the other (NK) has proven untrustworthy in the past. So to make the distinction that Iran is bad and NK good when there isn't even an actual agreement in place is simply partisan political hackery.

What about the previous agreements that North Korea broke on uranium enrichment ( and NK does have nuclear grade uranium and plutonium stockpiles and weapons, unlike Iran)?

Oh, man. The 1 hour News Conference was Great. Trump really put a positive spin on everything. According to Trump, there was a lot of verbal agreements made.
Maybe Trump really IS the charmer and 'Deal Maker' he claims to be. He was pretty impressive.
I think the Peace Treaty would negate the presence of American Troops in SK. But also render meaningless Nukes in NK if there is peace.
(I don't know if you watched the 1 hour News Conference with Trump, but it was Great. The way he tells it, there's lots of verbal agreements that aren't in the signed Document)
So, "the photo op" that leftists were soooo upset about, ... happened. And now, the Left claims it is insignificant ... and identical to prior negotiations.
NK has already stopped launching ICBMs since last year, razed one of their nuke test sites, and returned 3 American prisoners.
