Killer set free

Ahhh, if the 3 stooges tell each other they are right, it must be so....pity the chronology of the posts makes them out to be complete, dishonest assholes.

It does?

It certainly does not appear so.

While you compose another self-congratulatory response, ponder this news item:

Governor Regrets Failure to inform Family before Commuting Killer's Sentence

New York: New York Governor David A Paterson stated he regretted not informing the family of a teenager who was killed during a racially charged confrontation; that the killer’s sentence was commuted. The victim, Daniel Cicciaro,(Caucasian) 17 was unarmed when John WhiteJohn White, (African American) shot him.

“In retrospect I would have sought the (victim’s family’s ) input and that’s why I spoke with the family today.” Stated Paterson to reporters at a news conference on Friday.

John White was convicted of second degree-manslaughter and third degree criminal possession of a weapon in the shooting death of Daniel Cicciaro, 17.
Paterson commuted White’s sentence on Thursday. “I would not have changed my mind about the decision I made…but there were some issues raised that I’m going to think about going into the holidays.” The governor said his main regret was not taking into consideration the young victim’s family before announcing his decision.

White served approximately five months in prison before Paterson allowed his release, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas J. Spota. In a written statement, Paterson stated; “My decision today may be an affront to some and a joy to others, but my objective is only to seek to ameliorate the profound suffering that occurred as a result of this tragic event.”

Prosecutors on the case criticized the governor’s decision. Spota stated, “I strongly believe the governor should have had the decency and the compassion to at least contact the victim’s family to allow them to be heard before commuting the defendant’s sentence.
