This whack job killed 50 people from two blocks away and from above down from the 32nd floor...

Can we all agree he should not have had access to a weapon capable causing this carnage?

I know the saying, guns don't kill people, but without access to such a weapon, he would never have been able to pull this off.

I still haven't heard how he got the weapons he used, and I know it's not cool to "politicize" tragedies like this right out of the gate, but this stuff does affect me on a pretty basic level.

I just don't get our gun culture. I don't get why organizations like the NRA have so much political power, and why they oppose measures like the banning assault weapons so fiercely.

Nobody wants to discuss if he should have been allowed access to these weapons or not?

ban gunz,, pass a Constitutional amendment.
Or police gun shows and mail order, and seize conversion kits.
Possession of an automatic weapon should be treated like a violent crime- proactively lock them up

It's not a matter of "If he should have access to these weapons or not" ya GOOF.

If not this weapon then another?, so we deny access to the internet for sites providing instructions on making b@mbs,
kind of 'not liberal like' of you, free world right? Anything goes on your Internet right?
Don't blame this on guns

he wasn't ALLOWED to have them. Automatic weapons have been banned for years.

Next?

Well, do we all agree then that he should not of been allowed to have this weapon? I think that’s the preliminary questions.

If we all agree then, what steps should or can be taken to prevent something like this from getting such a weapon?

we should pass laws making them illegal to possess

Sorry GayRod. I do not accept your straw man argument. I know you like to play lawyer here, but stop it already.

Look, this happens every time there is a shooting. You guys scream and cry, but you know you will lose. If you couldn't get anything after Newtown, what makes you think this will? If you couldn't get anything after Scalise was shot by a Bernie supporter what makes you think this will?

BTW. I don't know if this is true, but if it is, you will stop talking about this in two days

There is some sort of reason that the U.S. leads the world in mass shootings.

It may not be as obvious as we think, and there are probably multiple reasons. But it's past time to dive deep into this one, and figure out what is wrong here.

That's easy, the NRA is owned by the gun manufacturers, at one time it actually was a legitimate organization which recommended reasonable gun restrictions

Every day 100 people are killed on our highways by the pedalphiles and textdrivers and other highway crazies. And we could easily stop that carnage but liberals say hell with it. Why do you liberals let the auto industry sell cars that do 120 mph?

It's obvious, too many guns and way too easy access to too many guns, just about anyone can get the weapon of his/her choice.

It tells you how absurd it is when a person who is on a terrorist watch list who can't fly on an airplane can legally purchase a gun
