Probably because the average IQ of the 12 Black jurors would hover somewhere around 85 points. Which means abstract thought would be off the menu. This, in turn, means they would, despite any hard incriminating evidence, acquit any Black defendant because (for example) - you know - it was all "systematic, Whitey racism", that's what really caused the crime (even though they don't know what the concept of "systematic racism" is). OTOH, if the defendent was a Whitey American, they would automatically find him guilty - even if the prosecution had presented a very weak case. That's because the defendant's ancestors were almost certainly Whitey slave-holders in "The South", you see, and them bad-ass, Whitey, slave genes is still a floatin' all around in his brain - box. An innocent man? Get your shit together and read what police rap sheet this thug had already achieved. Was that worthy of a death sentence? No, but given his pattern and the violence he was exhibiting, the community is better served with him assuming room temperature.
I feel bad for the cop, not the career criminal she shot.
This, and most other cases point out, do what the cop tells you to do.
