It was certainly his contingency position if NATO refused to back off. NATO must have known that. It sees some advantage for itself from this war- beyond Klepto Joe's obsession with shutting down Nord Stream 2- so it allowed it to happen. I can't see any other rational explanation for prodding the bear this far. Simply- NATO wanted war with Russia. Here we go.

That clearly isn't going to happen. The Russian position was quite clear- no NATO in Ukraine. NATO should have backed off- it knew the outcome of ignoring Russia's ask. NATO wanted this war. It's an aggressive gang responsible for death and destruction in many theaters. It can still come down in the court of sanity if it states that Ukraine will never join it.

I am getting annoyed with nearly everyone in the West pretending that Russia is trying to take territory, then saying something like "Russia has not taken XYZ yet, those Ukrainian's boy, they fight like Hell!"

I dont think hypocrisy is the right word...idiocy is closer...and we need to factor in the rabid hate for Russia which is pathological. . The West has already driven Russia into the arms of China...now they are working on burning the entire world down to satisfy their bloodlust for Russia.

The people of Europe, the people of NATO's component states, were not consulted as to whether Russia's simple request for a neutral Ukraine should be trampled by Klepto Joe and the Boys in their plan to disrupt commercial ties between Russia and Europe. Do you really think that, in the light of NATO's trashing of the rights of numerous other nations , its support for the ethnic cleansing of Palestine, its denial of Afghan money to Afghans, its illegal occupation of Syria, its crushing of Yemen and Somalia, its illegal occupation of Iraq and its devastation of the Libyan state- do you really REALLY think that ' self-determination ' for Ukraine was even one-thousandth of the fig-leaf required to hide NATO's desire to repress Russia ?
If so then you're a lost cause. Go wave the Ukrainian flag and salute its neo-Nazis- but don't dare to offer any moral NATO position for this war that Biden has nurtured and initiated.

All your hero Vladimir Putin has to end the violence is withdraw his armed forces from the sovereign territory of Ukraine back to their own country.

I guarantee you Ukrainian armed forces will not pursue them across the border and invade Russia
