Ketanji Brown Jackson is the most popular Supreme Court nominee in years

Excuse me, but she acknowledged Congress writes the laws every time one of the RWNJs criticized her over sentencing. Congress writes the sentencing laws, judges apply them. Check out The Sentencing Reform Act of 1984, Textweenie.

You'll be telling me next that there are no activist judges.

Five recent surveys have indicated strong support for President Joe Biden's decision to nominate Jackson for the Supreme Court seat retiring Justice Stephen Breyer is vacating. According to an average of polls by Gallup, Fox, Monmouth University, Quinnipiac University and the Pew Research Center, about 53% of Americans supported her confirmation, with about 26% of Americans opposed. This is good for a +27-point net popularity rating.

Agreed and most likely the most popular Supreme Court nominee since Justice Thurgood Marshall.

Then she should apply them as directed. Do you want someone who had kiddie porn on his computer around your kids?

:palm: Take it up with Congress. She did apply them as directed. You don't want her on the court so you'll make up any excuse to trash her, at least be honest about it. Read the link, it's short.

"Requires the court to impose a sentence within the range set forth by the Commission, if one has been issued, unless aggravating or mitigating circumstances exist that were not adequately considered by the Commission in formulating the guidelines. Requires the court to state in open court at the time of sentencing the reason for imposing a sentence at a point within the prescribed range, or the specific reason for imposing a sentence outside of such range."

So last year she was confirmed with bi partisan support to the second highest court in the land, now she is a radical? :palm:

But confirming a drunken rapist white guy is just Honky dory with you

Lindsey Graham voted for her confirmation last year!

How would your kids know? Not all who have kiddie porn are acting on it. But because you judge them badly, they should have long .long sentences. The point is that many are being overly sentenced. You are wise to judge them by behavior.

And you'll be telling me next that the only activist judges are the liberal ones.

This right wing supreme court is the activist in history. They seek laws to overthrow. They take cases to places other courts did not. The Roberts court is also the most pro-corporate anti-worker of all time. The super-rich are winning everywhere and Trumpy's love it.

That's a fantastic article, thanks for the link. I hope more people read it than just you and me.

When I read this paragraph it really made me angry, because I remember when Kavanaugh snapped at Amy Klobuchar, asking if she was a blackout drunk. It didn't hurt him and the RWNJs just ate it up. And I thought if Jackson had responded to Cruz like that, her career would be over. She showed more class with that pause than the odious Cruz ever showed in his entire life.

"Everybody knew that Ted Cruz got to stand up there and call Ketanji Brown Jackson whatever he wanted to, and nobody would stop him. Everybody knew that Jackson could not respond in kind if she wanted the job. And everybody knew that, in the same situation, Kavanaugh could and did sneer at his questioners, threaten the Senate with political retribution, and declare his undying love for beer, without hurting his chances at unaccountable lifetime power. Power he now holds."

Absolutely. It takes some nerve to criticize liberal judges for being activists, all the while turning a blind eye to the conservatives on the bench.

HORSE SHIT. THEY STOP LAWS THAT ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL, AS THEY TAKE A VOW TO DO.

SHE DIDN'T FOLLOW THE LAWS.
