Keep Calling It an Insurrection

It was an insurrection Trump style. So it was impetuous of course, clumsy and bungled, but an insurrection nevertheless. It doesn’t get a pass because it failed.

It was an attempted forced coup to overthrow the American system. They wanted to put the loser of the election back in office. It was very 3rd world of them. It was a terrible day for America and rightys should be ashamed.

Hello martin,

It was an insurrection Trump style. So it was impetuous of course, clumsy and bungled, but an insurrection nevertheless. It doesn’t get a pass because it failed.

It qualifies as one, haphazard as it was. The thing is: different people went there for different reasons; and some of them got caught up in something they did not plan for. Others had definite nefarious plans and imagined the rest were with them. Some tried to urge the hapless crowd on, but when they were inside the capitol most of them didn't know what to do as the worst of them were looking for politicians to murder.

The overall intent was to stop the government from doing it's job.

They did so for a while, but the courageous government bravely came right back to work and finished their task, even if it took most of the night.

Imagine the 'steal stoppers,' thinking they had accomplished their task, and they headed home only to wake up the next day and learn they had no effect on government function, that it went on anyway. And now their butts were being sought by authorities. Talk about going from the top of the hill to becoming the lowest of low lifes in the news, mocked and derided for attacking America.

But they carried flags with them!

Doesn't that count for anything?

Even if they were mounted on spears as they forced their way into capitol...

WHEN IS THE DEMTHUG INSURRECTION, STARTED LAST YEAR. GOING TO END ??

A TRUE "DEMTHUG STYLE" INSURRECTION, WITH ARSON, LOOTING, RAPE AND MURDER OF INNOCENT AMERICANS, WITH OVER 10,000 ARRESTS, SO FAR...

It was a physical assault by Americans on the United States Government.

Period.

That's an easy question. The answer is no.

Next easy question?

Nope. I imagine most do not.

That's good. Nearly all of us don't. No one should have been hurt, much less killed. Those responsible should be held accountable.
One thing that was amusing though, was AOC saying she thought she was "gonna die," and she wasn't even near the capitol.

Do you acknowledge that Trump incited it and that he could have put an end to it as simply as posting a Tweet telling the mob to stand down?

Nearly all lol?

The condemnation from the right was nearly universal. Pence didn’t bail out any of the rioters, for example.

It’s good to see the OP backed off the idea that the ragtag group of rioters presented any kind of threat to over throw the government. All of the congressmen were kept safe; the only person shot and killed was an unarmed Trump supporter.

Which made the *first time* an unarmed person [a veteran with no ‘troubled past’ at that] was killed by the cops where we don’t know the cops name.

Funny, how that worked.

Nice you found her fear amusing. Typical that you would. She was in a building annexed to the main Capitol building, could hear the sounds of the assault, security was as much or more concerned for her safety as for other Congressmen and women, knowing how much she is disliked by people like yourself.

Where were your feels when Trump and his family [including a young kid] had to be shuffled off into a WH bunker last summer?

And wasn’t that insurrection-ish?

I don't remember saying the President's predicament that time was amusing. But do you think the two events are comparable or that there was even a sliver of a chance the lives of the President and his family were in danger?

He/they were shuffled off to a bunker.

I wasn’t there but someone thought they were threatened. That’s what’s wrong with this—the left treats 1/6 as an isolated event when we had political violence going on through most of 2020.

And *nothing* was done about it.

There was comparatively little political violence. The violence associated with BLM riots was social violence. But "what's wrong with this" is the constant whataboutism the Right throws up at every controversy that involves them, rather than face an issue head on. It's mainly a moral failure but an intellectual failure as well.

Well, your post is an intellectual failure lol.

The SJW’s weren’t calling for *a political remedy* with their misguided protests over Floyd’s death? I think that makes their protests and associated violence kinda political. And Antifa was being ‘apolitical’ when they attacked police precincts? Really?

That’s weak.

It’s not whataboutism to put them and the mostly Trump rioters all in same box labeled ‘political violence’. It is what it is. If it quacks, it’s a duck. It went on through most of 2020 and bled into 2021 on 1/6.
