Kavanaugh Will 'Likely' Be Investigated for Perjury

Rep. Joe Neguse (D., Colo.) said Friday that the House Judiciary Committee will “likely” investigate perjury charges against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Joe Neguse, a freshman member of the Judiciary Committee, made the comments to a group of his constituents on Friday. He said that he was very concerned about perjury claims against Kavanaugh and that his committee may take steps to impeach him depending on their findings.

“There’s no question Kavanaugh committed perjury during the confirmation hearings and so forth,” Neguse said when asked if he planned to pursue Kavanaugh’s impeachment. “I think the Judiciary Committee is likely to take that up.”


Neguse’s comments apparently are consistent with comments on the same topic made by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.). It was reported that Nadler had also discussed the possibility of impeaching Kavanaugh days after the midterm elections. - PoliticusUSA

Last week, Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein accused Judge Brett Kavanaugh of repeatedly misleading the Senate Judiciary Committee during his confirmation hearings. “Brett Kavanaugh used materials stolen from Democratic senators to advance President Bush’s judicial nominees,” the committee’s ranking member tweeted. “He was asked about this in 2004, 2006 and this week. His answers were not true.”
 
Whatever you think of Blubbering Judge Kavanaugh, I was kind of looking forward to the first kegger at the U.S. Supreme Court.
I was looking forward actually to seeing John Roberts and Ruth Bader Ginsberg in togas!

During Kavanaugh’s Senate testimony in 2004, Orrin Hatch asked him if he had received “any documents that appeared to you to have been drafted or prepared by Democratic staff members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.” Kavanaugh said no. In 2006, Ted Kennedy asked him about the same documents, and Kavanaugh issued another denial, saying, “I don’t know what the universe of memos might be, but I do know that I never received any memos, was not aware of any such memos.”
