Kavanaugh should step down.

Regardless of whether you think Kavanaugh tried to rape Ford, as she has testified, and regardless of whether you think he was involved in the episodes of serious sexual misconduct alleged by the other two women, one thing should be clear to all reasonable observers: Brett Kavanaugh is simply not qualified to serve on the bench.... any bench, much less the nation's highest court.

The man lacks mastery of his own emotions. He's the poster-boy for how not to project an appropriate judicial temperament. Even before the hard questions came, he became completely unglued. A man with more self mastery would realize he should at least try to seem like he understands that the Democrats were doing their jobs in trying to get to the bottom of serious allegations, and instead he whimpered and whined about the supposed Democratic conspiracy against him. How can a man like that be expected to rule impartially on questions that have partisan implications? Whether or not he's a sexual predator, he's clearly the wrong man for the job. He should step aside immediately, and if he won't, Trump should drop him before he has a chance to disgrace our nation's highest court.

Not a chance now. They are going to have to defeat him via vote.

We will see

I have a prediction. I 100% guarantee that no matter what happens with his confirmation you will hear nothing more. They won’t press charges

What a massive pile of stupid; how ignorant and heartless are you assholes? STFU, seriously. You couldn't make a logical coherent argument if it was written for you.

I can't see them not confirming at this point.

I don't how much temperament really comes under consideration - I think most who would be inclined to vote for confirmation understand indignance in a situation like this, if they find him credible.

Well said, and I totally agree.

Even if he goes through with this, it hurts the Republican party because so much of America will think the Republicans lowered their standards just to get him seated.

They should start over and find somebody without this haze of impropriety swirling around him or her. Voters would look kindlier on that.

Did you watch his testimony? Did you not see his clearly un-judicial temperament on display, and his wallowing in Fox-News-style conspiracy theories and naked partisanship? That's simply not how a judge --even the lowest of judges-- should behave. Now that everyone knows how unqualified he is for the role, he should step down. Maybe the next nominee will have at least of hint of a judicial bearing and some self control.

I assume they will confirm, since he's a Republican and Republicans can usually be relied to set their duty to the nation aside in favor of their duty to their party. That's all the more reason he should step down -- the Senate Republicans aren't going to save the high court from this disgrace, but Kavanaugh still can.

my estimation of you just dropped about 50% points.

what part of righteous anger against being slandered do you not get?

Why would righteous anger in the heat of a partisan witch hunt display to his writings/rulings when on the bench?

You said something similar the other day. I wrote it off. now I think you either don't understand what a sober judge does while defending himself and his family to slander -or why his rulings do not go towards his character

He will never step down and will be confirmed.
I'm guessing you're right.... but he still has time to show some humility and to put the dignity of the high court ahead of his own ambition. He should step down, whether or not he's the attempted rapist Ford has said he is.

The part where it supposedly excuses a guy in a job interview melting down completely right off the bat, and then engaging in nakedly partisan rhetoric. He has completely destroyed any credibility he may have had when it comes to the issue of whether he can rule in a nonpartisan way on politically charged issues. That's disqualifying, whether or not he's a would-be rapist.

It's because I understand it that I realize Kavanaugh has made it clear he is unqualified. Even if he thinks Ford is slandering him (and I sure as hell see no reason to think she is), that doesn't excuse his unhinged rantings about the Democrats. They aren't slandering him. They've been presented with a serious allegation by a credible witness who is willing to swear under oath about what she says happened. What does Kavanaugh think they should do in that position? Are they supposed to conspire with him and the Republicans to keep it quiet? Are they supposed to vote things through without even allowing his alleged victim a chance to tell her story to the committee?

If he really didn't try to rape her, I can see him being very mad at her for claiming he did. But to jump from there into wild-eyed raving about the Democrats in general, wipes his ass with any hope for non-partisan credibility he may have had as a judge. He has disqualified himself and should step down.

"job interview?" he's been accused of multiple crimes. Have you ever been unjustly accused of a vile crime? Do you think you might react the same.

That said righteous anger towards this episode does not change the fact he has years of a demonstrable temperance

Feinstein dropped a bomb that should have been handled with regular order.

He's pissed he was ambushed. He's pissed at the newz non-stop coverage that he was a serial rapist .
did he say the Dems were slandering him? did he said Ford was?

You're the reason civilization keeps collapsing.

I hope she and her family wear that scarlet letter for life and are sued for defamation.

He will never step down.

I watched ALL of it and am still watching it snowflake. I see a guy who has been smeared point at all the uncivil morons on the Democratic side of the aisle and making them look like the pathetic, repugnant lying dumbasses they really are.

I saw a guy who with passion, and after being unethically smeared continuously by the Democrats and the Fake media, make his case with FACTS and credibility.

I saw a guy, who after all the smears and all the innuendo and lies, declare that even though his good name has been dragged through the mud and his family through hell, he was not going to back down.

This is the part that you need to come away from this hearing; Kavanaugh:
"I loved teaching. Thanks to the unethical efforts by the Democrats on this committee, I will never be able to teach again. "
"I loved coaching. Thanks to the unethical efforts by the Democrats on this committee, I will never be able to coach again. "

I'm guessing you're right.... but he still has time to show some humility and to put the dignity of the high court ahead of his own ambition. He should step down, whether or not he's the attempted rapist Ford has said he is.

Humility? Dignity? Where was the humility or dignity by the Democrats in their despicable unethical attempts to smear this man? STFU; seriously.
