Karl Rove, a veteran Republican political strategist said Donald Trump improperly kept classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago home.

Karl Rove, a Fox News contributor, made the comments Friday during an appearance on the network to discuss a newly released document used to justify the FBI search of Trump's home earlier this month. As Republicans have largely closed ranks in defense of Trump, Rove has emerged as an unexpected critic of the former president.

The U.S. Justice Department on Friday released a redacted affidavit stating Trump's legal counsel had been advised in June that his private residence was not "authorized to store classified information" taken from the White House at the end of his presidency. The affidavit also stated that FBI agents found 184 classified documents recovered from Mar-a-Lago earlier this year.
 
I'm glad to see that there are some Republicans speaking out about Trump's mishandling to top secret documents, even if it's Turd Blossom.

I saw that. He's full of shit. All presidents have taken things home like that. The FBI didn't raid Bill & Hillary's storage unit to get the White House furniture and flatware back.

Do you have any proof of this?

Records are turned over to archives and then some documents are transferred to Presidential libraries, but it’s all done with the Nat’l Archives oversight and they aren’t classified. Presidents in the past did not take records home without Nat’l archives consent.

If you have evidence of it being done, I’d like to see it.

Well, reading about the case, National Archives didn’t sue, Judicial Watch did, and the tapes were made by another source, not the White House. It seems like this isn’t the same as the records and Trump.

The question at the time was whether the furniture and flatware, all gifts, were gifts to them personally or gifts to the White House. They returned or paid for the items deemed to not be theirs.

But to compare furniture and flatware to classified documents is laughable and absurd.
