Kamila Harris

Hello Dutch Uncle,

That has been a misnomer for decades.

Democrats have lately been cleaning up the budget messes left by Republicans. And it looks like it will happen again.

Looks like we might soon find out if it is a conservative myth that taxing the rich more will cause them flee the country.

Disagreed on "misnomer for decades" but agreed both parties have created monsters in their political parties and doing their best to spend all the money while there's still money to spend.

Cutting taxes if fine as long as all the bills still get paid. They aren't. The US has no cash reserves and is just printing Trillions of Dollars under Trump. Taxes need to go up. Loopholes need to be closed. The tax code simplified to minimize cheaters; especially big money cheaters with lawyers.

Cutting spending has already been tried since the idea of "Trickle Down Economics" was first floated by Reagan. Now it's run its course and our nation is faltering due to a failure to invest in our citizens and our infrastructure.

its sad that people like you keep lying about a law suit that was dismissed.......apparently in the minds of lib'rul fools you can lose a law suit and still pretend you won......

The liars are those who say the case was dismissed. It was settled, not dismissed. Anyone who watches a few of Trump's campaign speeches, especially in 2016, knows he's a racist asshole.

"[The settlement] required the Trumps to place ads in newspapers saying that they welcomed black applicants," Kranish says. "It said that the Trumps would familiarize themselves with the Fair Housing Act, which prohibited discrimination. So it also specifically said they don't admit wrongdoing, but they did have to take several measures that the Trumps had fought for two years not to take."

First of all I'm not sure what any of that blather has to do with the kamil. She was selected ONLY because of her pigment and genitalia. If you think you will "save America" by selecting its leaders that way you're more delusional than Biden.

You make that stupid and racist claim every time a minority is chosen for anything.

I’ll bite on your last paragraph. When have we ever tried to cut spending? We have over $20 trillion in debt not to mention trillions in unfunded liabilities.

To suggest we tried it, it failed, and we need to spend even more is a rather distorted and frightening concept in my eyes

Sequestration.

Can we at least agree that whatever we're doing isn't working? What is your suggestion?

why do you idiots continue to lie about things so easily proved......

from the order dismissing the case.....

It is hereby ORDERED, ADJUDGED and DECREED that in consideration of their affirmative assumption of responsibility contained in part III herein, the complaint against Fred C. Trump and Donald J. Trump is dismissed against them in their personal capacity, with prejudice, as to all allegations contained therein, and predating this Order.

publishing non discrimination notices and education commitments are boiler plate provisions in settlements like this......what is missing and noticeably so, is even token damages.......the least I have ever seen in settlements is $5000 and I can tell you that in that case Fair Housing didn't even bother to cash my client's check......

Wasn’t the sequestration mostly aimed at the military? Ultimately they were still running deficits of hundreds of billions of dollars so it wasn’t all much of a cut in spending.

I don’t think what we’re doing is working. We’ve had the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression and this is with running massive deficits and multiple rounds of QE and continued easy money policies. It’s not good nor is it sustainable.

We could write a dissertation on what needs to be changed.

Thanks again for more proof you are a lip-service Christian.

Thanks for the link. Did you read all of it or just searched for "dismissed" and stuck with that?

proven to be a lying demmycunt, Dutch Uncle resorts to his safe zone, which is attacking my religion.........any more reason needed to realize he's got nothing worth hearing?.....

I am an attorney who has actually worked on cases like this........what is the source of YOUR "expertise"?........the dailykos?......

No, it was across the spectrum of government but deeply flawed: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_budget_sequestration_in_2013

You might be thinking of the great money grab by the Clinton administration after the Cold War ended under GHW Bush with their "Guns to Butter" AKA "Peace Dividend" campaign.

A lot needs to be changed and, agreed, you and I won't solve it. We can only discuss the direction, not the details. One is basic economics: Don't spend more money than you make unless it's a good investment. Buying a home is good, a car is a necessity in some cases, but one's income should cover the payments. If not, then, like the US is doing, it's a problem.

Hello jacksonsprat22,

Got that right.

If they want to forget that Trump racially discriminated against blacks as a rental manager in the 60's that leaves no standing to criticize Biden for what he did back then.

Yes, the state of New York convicted him of racial discrimination in housing.

Hello Yakuda,

First of all I'm not sure what any of that blather has to do with the kamil. She was selected ONLY because of her pigment and genitalia. If you think you will "save America" by selecting its leaders that way you're more delusional than Biden.

That post crossed a line. I don't recall having specifically pointed out my Ignore Policy to you, so I'll do so now:

Personal Ignore Policy PIP: I like civil discourse. I will give you all the respect in the world if you respect me. Mouth off to me, or express overt racism, you will be PERMANENTLY Ignore Listed. Zero tolerance. No exceptions. I'll never read a word you write, even if quoted by another, nor respond to you, nor participate in your threads. ... Ignore the shallow. Cherish the thoughtful. Long Live Civil Discourse, Mutual Respect, and Good Debate!

I'd be fine to talk about politics all day long but personal attacks cross the line. Many think this board should be nothing more than a big insult fest. But the truth is: this board is what we make it. I choose to make it about discussing politics, not one another. You can mix it up with others all you like but I draw the line right where the discussion is no longer about politics but about other posters. The third sentence of your post crossed that line. Cross it again and we won't be talking any more. I hope that doesn't happen. For a more academic experience in debating politics, curtail those habits when talking to me and we can have years of stirring discussions. Your choice.

Now you know what I stand for.

Kamala Harris is a black woman with an Asian kicker. And she made Bill Barr look like a buffoon. Pence is shitting his pants. Bye Trump!!!

Hello Dutch Uncle,

Agreed. I'll go even further and say that goes for people of both sexes around their friends. It might be one reason why Hillary had a November surprise from Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Another factor which I don't see addressed a lot except tangentially is the 40% of voters who are Independents. Like myself, most Independents feel neither party represents them; that both parties cater to special interests and put party before country. The high percentage of Independents would help explain why, since 2009, most Americans think our country is going in the wrong direction. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/direction_of_country-902.html

When a high percentage of American voters belong to neither party yet recognize their elected reps will belong to one party or the other, then, IMO and using a little game theory, the best solution is to keep both parties off balance by always voting for the challenger or Third Party. That may be what happened in both 2016 and 2018 and what we might see again in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

People who live in swing states without Ranked Choice Voting often live to regret voting their conscience instead of least worst case voting.

I bet there are a lot of Floridians who have regretted their votes in 2000 and 2016.

I would wager that there are many people who regret your post cheering the economic loss to millions of Americans and their families caused by the virus from China that China failed to contain.

Well thanks for that. With all due respect if you never talk to me again my life will go on. It really doesn't matter to me. That's not meant to be disrespectful it's just how it is. Now to the matter at hand, I stand by my statement. The entire thing is indisputably true. If that gets me on your pip or whatever the hell it is then so be it. You can either address the reality or ignore it. The choice is yours.

We've been around this subject before and you have never been able to suggest enough cutting to balance the budget without crashing the economy. The only viable solution at this point is to tax the rich more.
