Agreed she won't run but if she does she is out of the primaries in the first round of drop outs.

I wonder if Ron DeSantis will try and run again or if the humiliation he faced in the last run will keep him out? Had he not the run the last time he might have got the nomination unopposed to follow Trump and he might have been the only one who could have kept the Trump coalition together.

Before Trump started destroying it now, that is.

I figure both parties will have their 'Seven Dwarves' running initially. After the first few primaries they'll almost all drop out and it'll be down to like two or maybe three candidates in each party. By the middle of the primary season it'll be down to two or even just one that's going pro forma through the motions.

Nah, Ron is done, leaves Governor’s mansion and he loses that podium, besides he’d never get MaraLago’s approval, Trump has too many heirs apparent available
 
DeSantis won't run. Harris will be out quickly if she enters the primaries. A dark horse could be Manchin, but I don't believe it very likely. Duckworth and Beshear would be interesting. Abbott would like to, and so would Paxton.

ya i said he was done and would get destroyed if he tried to run again. My question was more of was he delusional enough to run again?

The destruction of Ron is arguably the best thing to come out of the Trump second term because if Ron did not run against Trump and instead just decided he would finish his time as Governor and then run when Trump out, i think Ron wins the next magat convention easily and maintains the magat coalition into the next election.

I think he, is arguably the only one who could maintain it and perhaps grow it as i think he was equally appealing to the deplorables in the party (racists and isolationists) but he was more attractive to the Oligarchs and Neocon types.

Manchin won't run, imo, as Trump was older than Biden when he ran this second time and Manchin would be older than Trump.

I am pretty sure the country is done with that.

Abbott and Paxton, imo also do not have the chops to run.

The big question is whether Tucker Carlson might run? I do not think he wants to and i think he would much prefer JD Vance emerge and fill that role, but if Vance continues to look unelectable and Tucker accepts that he might be recruited and feel forced to run.

In a similar way John Stewart looms on the left as the outsider dark horse with constant recruitment pressure to run and what an interesting rematch it would be if Tucker ran and Stewart felt he had to take him on again. This time with a real chance to end his career as he almost did the first time they matched up.
 
Stewart and Carlson would be entertainment challenges, and at this time in our culture and history, I don't think they will.

If Matthew McConaughey ran? Wow! I have no idea what would happen. I do think he could be elected in Texas to almost any office.

I think Mark Cuban is also interesting.

He has largely avoided alienating a lot of the Trump base and could have a lot of cross over to them (business, young bro's, etc), if he ran as a Dem.
