justice or prosecutorial over zealousness

Maybe they were a little aggressive in their sentencing. This man deserves a substantial amount of time in the pen but this might be a bit much. While I figure it doesn't matter whether he's in the pen or not, we'll be supporting this guy. This is what makes me laugh:

"There ain't no justice in the justice system," he said, gazing down at his olive-green prison jumpsuit and beige rubber sandals. "I ain't going to never accept what happened," he added. "They know what they did isn't right."

I wonder if he thinks what he did was right?

i do not know, however, he claims that he is innocent, something that i find a little hard to believe considering that he was convicted

remind me to add florida to my list of states to avoid

though 20 years strikes me as a more reasonable sentence

oh well

While the article does a really good job of complaining about the sentencing and down playing Davis's responsibility, one is able to find some interesting facts mixed in with the diatribe.

He wasn't a first time offender, he was a first time arrestee. He committed 7 robberries, during a 3 month period. The first robbery made him a first time offender, he just wasn't caught at that time.

The other par is the use of the weapon. Most States have laws that pretty much say if a felony is committed and a weapon is used, it doesn't matter who fired it. All involved are implicated.

So I'm just curious; it was mentioned that 20 years would have been enough. Has anyone asked the victims?
