Justice For Jamison: Teen paralyzed in Sanford shooting dies; Still no arrests

A 17-year-old boy who was shot in Seminole County and paralyzed for months died in December following a complication from his injury, WFTV learned Monday.

Jamison Knight was shot in the neck while walking. He was only one block from his home near 13th Street and Mangoustine Avenue, which is close to police headquarters.

Channel 9 learned no arrests have been made in the case, but Knight's friend, Jovarius Blue, spoke out on Monday.

"We would just walk around talk to girls, have fun," Blue said.

Before he died, Knight told police the shooter was black and was driving a silver-and-gray car.

Knight's mother, Vickie Little, told Channel 9 last year she hoped that information would lead police to a suspect, but her story was overshadowed by the rallies and marches across the country for Trayvon Martin.

Blue said he thinks the Martin shooting pushed Knight's case to the back burner.

"I think so," he said.

Sanford police investigator Trekelle Perkins said it was a random shooting and the shooter remains at large.

"Why do you think nobody in the community was as outraged over this?" Channel 9's Tim Barber asked Blue.

"I think because they know who shot (Martin)," said Blue.

Little said the shooting happened after the family moved to Sanford to escape gun violence in Georgia. However, after Knight passed away, Little moved back to Georgia.

Blue said he wasn't expecting Knight to pass away so soon.

"I thought he was going to stay for a little longer," Blue said.

You've seen my posts. I am very much of the opinion that Poverty=desperation=crime=violence. Poverty, IMO.... is the root of it all. Why is it a race issue with you? Seriously, You do this all the time on here. I am not labeling you as a racist(although I have done so in the past), I just want to know....why is it so important to you to keep bringing this up...over and over again?

I'd really like to hear his reasoning. I personally think that it's a coward's way out... to blame the group that you don't belong to for the woes of the world...but I am willing to listen. I'd just like to see something more than newspaper clippings from this fellow. I mean, Fuck... if RazorX is a racist....fine. I don't give a shit. It's not my place to judge. I just want to hear his perspective.

He could be pointing out that there are lots if deaths among black kids every day that lefties don't seem to care about. They picked or because the shooter has a Jew sounding name.

But I suppose it is easier for some to just scream out RACISM. That way the screamer is shielded from difficult truths.

Poverty? That might be a cause. But I would point to the fact that Trayvon had shitty parents that enabled and ignored his wannabe gang behavior that likely contributed to his untimely death.

But for some it is easier to make excuses than look at hard truths.

If only Trayvons parents had aborted him like they were supposed to none of this would have happened

RazorX has been posting this crap long before Trayvon Martin got shot....usually with snide remarks as footnotes.

As far as "liberals not caring"? Who are the folks proposing legislation to expand our infrastructure(jobs), establish America as the "go to" country for renewable energy(stability and jobs), and a host of other shit you consider Socialism?

And who are the folks that try to block it at every turn?

From all indications Trayvon had a background similar to any other cracker teenager with a single mother with a college degree and a comfortable state job and a divorced, but loving blue collar father. Not far different from the millions of other middle class kids out there, huh?
