Just like I predicted

Wal-Mart will probably follow. Millions of temporary and low-wage workers will get the shaft because of Pelosi, Reid, and The Obama. :fu:

Everyone is going to follow. The government will get 2K and the people will get to pay for their own insurance

OR

If your employer provides your insurance, get ready to learn about 1099 forms

I said all this from day one. It was obvious what business would do. Why do democrats have no idea what their laws will do?

They should waive the mini-med benefit to premium ratio until the exchanges kick in and low wages workers can get better insurance for cheaper prices instead of the horseshit they have now (though it's better than nothing).

Its a moot question because Democrats aren't motivated by what their laws will do to people. Remember, their sole motivation is to obtain, then hold, power. That is the only reason why they enacted ObamaCare.

not sure why everyone is shocked that major employers are going to drop coverage and pay the lesser fine. this is exactly what the dems/obama wanted in order to look at us and say 'see? we told you single payer was the thing we needed'. and most dumbfuck civilians will stupidly agree.

Pretending that major employers are going to dump coverage because the shitty plans that McDonald's has for their low wage workers might get scrapped because of a requirement that these mini plans use premiums to pay benefits instead of to the pockets of administrators is bullshit.

Yes, some employers will scrap coverage. Most won't. And for those that have their coverage scrapped, they can go out and buy oftentimes better coverage at a lower price on the exchanges. In fact, if you run the numbers McDonald's employees will be able to get better, cheaper plans once the exchanges kick in. The problem is the near term.

And once you add in the fact that it's EXTREMELY unlikely that anyone working at MickeyD's at an hourly wage is doing so because of the awesome healthcare benefits included, you quickly come to the realization that it's no big deal to anyone but breathless Righties looking for any excuse to attack Obama.

i'll let you know how that works out when my current employer drops our coverage.

YEP! That's the other thing I said right from the start. first they make it hell for us, then we'll beg them for the public option. It's obvious.

Mind explaining why most won't?

Show us the math, libtard

You guys are the assholes that brought insurance into the equation! Damn, you're a fucking idiot

seriously, the democrats drive up the cost by mandating insurance for employees, and when you talk about how this is going to cost jobs and cost employees as well as employers, all the while it's a huge windfall for the insurance companies, the local libtards make up strawmen arguments about employees working at McDonalds for benefits.

The employers didn't ask to have to cover their employees.
Employees didn't demand insurance when they took the job

Your argument it totally retarded

wtf are you arguing? They are not going to offer mini plans because it's going to be cheaper for them to pay the fine and tell the employee to find his own insurance plan.

You fucking idiots really don't listen to anything, do you?

They aren't going to replace it with a better plan. You are so stupid it's funny

Yeah, actually I don. There has been plenty of analysis done on this and I'm certain you can find quickly locate some.

http://www.balloon-juice.com/2010/0...donalds-health-insurance-any-day-of-the-week/

I went over to the Kaiser Family Foundation to take a look at what I might qualify for under the healthcare law if I were a single McDonald’s worker (using 2014 dollars). Generously assuming I’d make $10/hour (I believe shift managers make about $9.81/hour) I calculate my yearly salary at $20,800 – or about 181% of poverty.

Turns out I’ll be on the hook for a premium of about $1127 a year, or about $21 per week. That’s $11 less a week than I’d pay for McDonald’s mini-med benefits. But instead of yearly maximum benefit of $10,000 I’d have no maximum benefit at all since maximum benefits are no longer legal. And I’d only have a maximum out-of-pocket expense of $2,083. This plan – a ‘silver’ plan under the new law – is going to be quite a lot better than McDonald’s, actually:

So tell us Dung.... WHO pays for all that extra coverage? This is where the stupidity of Obamacare lies. Idiots who think you can give endless benefits for minimal expenditures.

Companies WILL dump their plans. They will let people go into these plans and it will blow up in a decade (maybe two).

Plenty of companies carry better insurance or get better insurance strictly to take better care of their employees. It reduces turnover, so it save the company in the long run.

My company pays the full premium for excellent medical/dental/optical insurance. They made the shift several years ago when some of the frontline employees were dropping their coverage because they needed the money for bills. The company was paying between 1/3 and 1/2 of the insurance premium.

Whether that would work at McDonalds or WalMart is debateable, but not out of the question.
