I agree, but we have become a society that has come to a point where we neglected mental health so badly, (to save money on taxes) that we no longer can afford the right to bear arms. These things have consequences. People warned us in the 1980's this would be the result.

Agreed. That's my point; they won't agree to a tax increase either. So which one is the most likely to be supported by American voters? Banning things? Telling them they can't be trusted to make their own decisions? Or providing a better future for their kids with better healthcare and education? Healthcare including mental healthcare and testing.

Not a father, only a grandfather, but it seems to me that it's better to provide the best future as possible for my grandkids. Education and good health, both physical and mental, are the building blocks of what they need to become solid, tax-paying Americans building a better future for their own kids. All the banning shit seems a step backwards to me.

Gay marriage does not kill anyone. The assault rifles are used to kill people who are not affecting the killer in any way. Abortion ends a pregnancy inside a woman’s body, there are very significant differences.
