Judge Perry said she had concerns about some of the information submitted by federal officials in the Chicago case, citing other recent cases where the Department of Homeland Security’s actions or versions of events had been called into question. She said there was growing evidence that “DHS’s perceptions of events are simply unreliable.”

Trump is employing a playbook that’s eerily similar to ones that have been used by despots, including Adolf Hitler, who consolidated his control over Germany by deploying Sturmabteilung shock troops to spread fear across the populace.


Trump has effectively weaponized ICE as his own personal police force, and is using it to bait protestors into clashes and create a pretext for exerting military-style control over cities led by Democrats. From the very beginning of Trump’s second term, federal agents’ pursuit of undocumented immigrants has been marked by the spread of fear and terror. Trump says ICE’s heavy-handed tactics are necessary to fulfill his promise that undocumented immigrants “will not be tolerated.” But the scale and spectacle of ICE actions suggest another motive: to manufacture war-like images that justify crackdowns on leftists, whom Trump routinely portrays as domestic terrorists.

Appeals court overruled a few hours ago.
I tell ya what, cupcake: The mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois may be arrested.
An example has to be set somewhere, and they are clearly breaking the laws of the land and violating their Oaths of Office.
A prosecutorial case on them is a Michael Jordan Slam Dunk right now.

Perry’s order temporarily blocking the National Guard. “Donald Trump is not a King — and his administration is not above the law,” Pritzker wrote on X, adding: “There is no credible evidence of rebellion in the state of Illinois. And no place for the National Guard in the streets of American cities like Chicago.”

One of us has a cousin or other relatives that are attorneys, and it's probably not you.
One is a federal attorney for sure.

My favorite Dem talking point is the whole due process schtick when it comes to deportations. Its actually comical. I mean,....as if WE ALL don't understand that to give every single border jumper due process including all the court challenges and every slow down tactic that can be dreamed up would literally take DECADES to complete and cost the taxpayer untold amounts of money. In plain English.......C.mon,....shut the fuck up with your nonsense,...seriously. Doing it that way you could easily end up with a situation where by the time you actually deported someone they could easily have had 6 kids born here and those kids went on to have babies born here before you even get the first one out. Some glory.

We'll see what happens with the decision. Maybe the appellate court will rule as in the Oregon case that the protesters in Chicago are no different from the South Carolina militia that fired on Ft. Sumter at the outbreak of the Civil War. Or maybe this time the court will not lose its mind.
