Judge blocks parts of Arizona immigration law

And were I the federal judge I would then hold a contempt hearing for the governor of the state, have federal marshal's go arrest and if the governor did not issue an order in compliance with my initial order I would throw her ass in Jail until she did. Federal courts have the right to review state laws for their compliance with the Federal Constitution and to insure they do not interfere with existing federal law.

Yep, just ask Roy Moore.

More illegals have been deported under Obama than Bush.
When I fix my faux outrage meter I'll be back, this shit is great.

SB 1070 would have made Latinos in Arizona suspects in their own communities, even though the vast majority of them are native-born U.S. citizens and legal residents.

SB 1070 twists legitimate frustration with America's broken immigration system, and while it cannot fix that problem, it would have thrown the door wide open to racial profiling.

If a single ethnic group is involved in 99% of the people breaking a certain law, is racial profiling a horror or an acceptable procedure?

YOu make noises like you dislike the porous border, but do not want it fixed.

As btw, the immigration system is not broken. Border security is broken. There is a huge difference.

Why would you disprespect the United States Constitution?

The federal government, not Arizona, has preeminent authority to regulate immigration matters.

This authority clearly derives from the United States Constitution and numerous acts of Congress. SB 1070 would have unconstitutionally allowed the state of Arizona to regulate immigration by establishing a separate state offense for immigartion violations.

It would have given local police officers the authority to investigate, detain and arrest people for perceived immigration violations without proper training, exacerbating the problem of racial profiling.

If you belive in the Constitution, yes it is a horror and an unacceptable procedure.

Which portions are those?

The portions that require emmigrants to carry documentation and the portions that require police to determine immigration status if they "suspect" a person to be in the country illegally.

While the states may exercise their police power in a manner that has an incidental or indirect effect on aliens, a state may not establish it's own immigration policy or enforce state laws in a manner that interferes with the federal immigration laws.

The United States Constitution and federal immigration laws do not permit the development of state and local immigration policies throughout the country willy-nilly.

I am still trying to see how the law is racist?

From Merriam Webster:

Main Entry: rac·ism
Pronunciation: \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-\
Function: noun
Date: 1933
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

None of that applies to this law.
