Conservative hypocrites won't even acknowledge this, let alone condemn it.

"Scores of Jordanians on Thursday tried to break into a church in the northern Ajloun province in protest against the reported killing of a local girl by her Christian father on the background of her recent conversion to Islam, a Jordanian security source said.

"Some residents of Al-Wahadinah village besieged and tried to storm into the church, a short time after some youth attempted to burn it down before security forces intervened," the security source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity. He added that the woman was killed by her father on Wednesday a short time after she converted to Islam when she attended a lecture by prominent Saudi preacher Mohamed al-Arefe at the Jordanian University in the capital Amman.

"He hit her with a stone on the head," the security source said of the woman. "She died immediately," he added.
The protesters, who gathered outside an administrative province building before they headed to the church on Thursday, called for burying the slain woman in a cemetery designated for Muslims. Jordanian authorities have not commented on the accident yet.

Christians make up 2.2 percent of Jordan's eight million population, according to a 2014 census."

Disgusting pig. That is not Christianity, but I can see others claiming it is.

I think Christiefan made this thread to mock those who slam Islam or Muslims.

There's no excuse for this obviously.

But if you're trying to make this a Muslim apologetic by saying 'Christians do it too', it's kind of weak. The problem is death for apostasy is prescribed in Islam and not Christianity. When people are stoned for apostasy in places where strict sharia is enforced, groups of Muslims will stone an individual to death. If you ever have a chance to watch a clip of a stoning do yourself a favor and pass on it. It's disturbing.

Also, you can't tell from the account whether the man happens to be Christian or whether he [thought?] he was acting on Christian principles.

Jesus did away with stoning in the Gospels. John, I think.

Nothing that calls for that in Christianity as it is in islam.
This is a cultural or crazy thing.

It's true, there is nothing in Christianity that calls for killing someone just because they aren't Christians... oh, wait, no.

Deuteronomy 17:

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshiped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

I particularly like how we are admonished to "stone them with stones" as opposed to, say, stoning them with sponges or feathers.

Deuteronomy 13:

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again. 12 If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in 13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, 15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock. 16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt.

And remember the Midianites in Numbers 31? Two Midianite women try to tempt some Israelites into coming with them to worship other gods. The punishment? Kill all the Midianite men, married women and children, but keep the virgin women so they can be raped by the Israeli soldiers.

(cough)

Sorry, Charlie. The bolded is a myth.

If you're going to talk about Islam, don't get all of your info about it from right-wing blogs.

They like to selectively apply the Scriptures, and pretend some don't apply any more when it's convenient, don't they?
