WASHINGTON — Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against President Donald Trump for his description of a judge who ruled against Trump's migrant asylum policy as an "Obama judge."
It's the first time the Republican-appointed leader of the federal judiciary has offered even a hint of criticism of Trump, who has previously blasted federal judges who ruled against him.


Roberts said Wednesday the U.S. doesn't have "Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges." He commented in a statement released by the Supreme Court after a query by The Associated Press.
Roberts said on the day before Thanksgiving that an "independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."

I also think Gorsuch will cast swing votes as well.

Kavanaugh is still unproven on the Supreme Court. But, he did take an oath, and we will just have to wait a while to see if he was earnest in taking his oath!

We should know just after only a few decisions!

But we already know enough about Roberts and Gorsuch, and they look very A-political to me, just based on their decisions on the Bench!

But Hey, Donald Trump Thank You for Gorsuch- He's a Keeper!

And Thank You George Bush- Because Roberts was also a keeper!
 
Chief Justice Roberts is almost the only hope we have to get through the national nightmare, the abomination Donald Trump.

I'm delighted Roberts spoke out.

I'm waiting for another of the abomination's shoes to drop.

You know after it is all said and done, Bret Kavanaugh is just one judge on the court.

I know! I Know! He's an Originalist and that is a bit scary for some!

But, having a single originalist on the Courts will be a good thing, because we will be able to take note of how originalists interpret the Constitution.

That will quickly determine why people should either vote for them- or not vote for them in other political races.

Sometimes, a bad example, can actually end up being a good example of what we do not want to see follow!

Take Donald Trump for example! He's another bad example of what will end up being a good example of what we do not want to follow in any future political contests!
 
Roberts is a righty and a pro corporate anti-worker judge who has led the court far to the right. I suppose he is not nuts enough to accept Trumps"normalcy". If they agree with Trump they are good judges. If they rule against him, it is just due to bias against him and they are working for whoever appointed them. Trump is such an asshole.

talking all day long with people like his more liberal court members can get to one if they have any real morals

I do not think people realize, or remember, how extremely rightwing Justice Kennedy became in the last years of his work on the court. I think he was voting with Alito, Scalia, and Thomas 99 percent of the time.

So the addition of the Blind Drunk Kegger Judge really does not fundamentally change anything - it was a swap of one rightwinger for another.

I agree that Roberts theoretically could be the new swing vote.
 
I think Kav could be a possible person to swing left after time

i like that in the space of a few months gorsuch went from literally hitler to moderate judge <3
