Whole thing is absurd, if they had even the slightest real concern for the border they would approve the proposal, try it out, they have nothing to lose, in fact, even if Trump were elected, the legislation coming thru Congress would give much more authority to do what he wanted
Sadly, I am beginning to think it is a perfect microcosm of where America stands today, the “if I don’t get my way nobody is getting anything,” exact antithesis of what the Founders envisioned

Trump wanted to tank the Debt Ceilings talks in the belief that it would send the US and potentially entire world into Great Recession.
Trump wants to shut down gov't and not even allow Continuing Resolutions to fund gov't because he believes it greatly hurt America.
Why?
Because Trump believes that regardless of the cause, when citizens feel a lot of harm and see no way out, they seek to change the POTUS.
Trump wrongly believes that is what Covid did to him, when in fact it was his incompetent management.
So that is why Trump wants the border open. He is hoping for more fentanyl, more chaos and things to get MUCH worse in America, in the hopes that people will feel they need change and they get rid of POTUS, Biden.
Trump would light all of America on fire if he thought it would improve his election chances.
