The border ls exactly like it was Trump was in office. The drug problem can only be addressed by treatment and providing drugs to those who are hooked. If there is a huge profit in drugs, someone will supply them. We should have learned that much by now. Every busted cartel is replaced by a better and smarter one. Every drug pusher who is arrested will be replaced.
Since Nixon, we have had a terribly expensive war on drugs that simply cannot work. We have jailed millions and wasted billions while plugging up the justice department and filling jails that we keep building. Lives are ruined and millions are being supported, who could be working. Treatment would be a much more humane way of dealing with those who are hooked.

No, it isn't. When Trump was in office people weren't pouring across by the tens of thousands a day. They weren't being turned loose immediately into the US either. ICE agents weren't constrained by the executive branch and were better able to hunt and stop smugglers rather than spend all of their time processing illegal entrants who shouldn't even be here.
