As ballots continue to be tabulated in several states across the nation, Democratic nominee Joe Biden has become the first presidential candidate to receive over 75 million votes.

As of Friday night, Biden has received 75,088,495 votes, according to data from The Cook Political Report.

The former vice president has already surpassed Barack Obama's record for the most votes cast for a presidential candidate. Obama received 69,498,516 votes in the 2008 election—a number Biden passed Thursday.

Biden is currently leading in the popular vote over President Donald Trump, who has 70,523,733 votes.

The race continues to tighten, hinging on only a few battleground states that are still too close to call three days after Election Day. But new ballot drops are strongly favoring Biden.

It's still early, but I'm putting money on the next Democratic presidential candidate to get over 100 million votes. They're just going to have to be careful where they ballot stuff to get that total. You don't want to accidentally have a state produce more votes than registered voters.

It is a testament as to how much Trump is reviled and rightly so. Trump's brand is not what the USA needs to get on the right track nor is Biden and the establishment Dems and certainly not the Republi-cons, but half a bowl of shit is better than a full bowl. We had to get rid of Trump in order to stop the bleeding and address the rest. Every sock-cucker Trump added to the swamp will now be gone as well and good riddance!

Well, at least you admit that Biden isn't very good. The problem isn't really a matter of party anyway. The problem is that a lot of what the West is based on seems to be slowly falling apart. That's not something any president can properly address. It's just a matter of time chipping away at civilization and having something better replace it. If we're lucky, we'll die before this country truly collapses, but I feel sorry for the people who are currently young children. By the time they're in the prime of their lives, they will have inherited a shitshow of a culture and nation. And this goes for not just America but much of the West in general.

Your dark scenario need not unfold at all but people must wake up. When 60-80% of the American people support and badly need the policies that can raise everyone up but the so-called representatives are going out of their way to not deliver, we no longer have a representative government and therein lies the problem. Both parties are serving their corporate masters and the establishment Dems are now the party that the GOP was a few decades ago while the GOP is just off the effing rails but neither party, with a few exceptions in the Dem party, are advocating for the will of the people. The USA used to be number 1 in the industrialized world in affording people upward mobility and now it is number 34 and that is not an accident.
