Joe Biden gets unemployment rate down by forcing retirees back into the work force!

Soaring inflation driving retired employees back to the workforce

Inflation rose 8.5% in July, remains near its highest level in 4 decades!

Retirement, even without growing concerns over a potential recession, has provoked feelings of stress and anxiety within people who have spent decades building up a career or running a business, according to an industry expert.

"Any type of change that you make can be perceived as a loss because you're giving up something to go to something else," Michael Liersch, the head of wealth and investment management advice and planning at Wells Fargo, told FOX Business.

Retirement isn't sitting on Adirondack chairs and gazing at the sun, Liersch said. Instead, it's a drastic shift from a familiar lifestyle that gives you a lot of social and cognitive benefits in terms of the challenges that you confront, he added.

You also have to adjust to a life where you no longer rely on employer benefits.

Wow.. How stupid can Stringfellow Hawk be? Doesn't he know know that the unemployment rate is based on number of people looking for work divided by total of the number of people employed plus the number looking for work. If a retiree is not looking for work they are not a factor in the unemployment rate since they would not be looking for work.

The Fox Business story is about how some retired people are going back to work because they are worried they may not have saved enough assets to retire. It has nothing to do with the unemployment rate.

and they cant make ends meet because inflation is eating their bank account and the stock crash is eating their investments.

150,000+ of those 575k jobs were for 2nd and 3rd jobs, another 150k for low paying hourly ones. thats why the labor pool shrunk and jobs went up.

that's right, so he gets the benefit counting them in the workforce as they were never classified as looking, they are working because his fucking inflation number dates back to fucking Jimmy Carter, another fucking idiot the democrats worshipped:laugh:

You would not know a fact if it bit you on the ass. That imbecile you elected even said you nitwits prefer "truth" to facts. It amazing how stupid you people are.

Stupid as fuck. People have unretired for decades. Their return to the workforce would actually RAISE the unemployment rate. But then the OP is a complete fucking moron.

You really have no clue how unemployment numbers are calculated, do you? And you didn't read the article, did you?

As of July 2022, 3.2% of workers who retired a year earlier are now employed, which is higher than the pre-pandemic average. From 2017 to 2019, an average of roughly 3% of retired workers wound up having a job a year later.
I'm curious as to what excuse you are using for 3% of workers under Trump going back to work compared to the 3.2% under Biden. Under Biden we saw a less than 10% increase in the number going back to work compared to Trump.

First off, we do not want unemployment rates to drop any further. We have too many jobs, and not enough unemployed people. It is driving up inflation.

More importantly, retired people are not unemployed. You have to be looking for work to be unemployed; which by definition retired people are not.

There is a possible problem with lower employment rates. The primary part of the workforce missing after the pandemic is people who have chosen to retire earlier than they would have before the pandemic. Should those people return to the workforce?

The alt right keeps whining that they should, and also whines when they do.

Unemployment rate is already 3.5%. There is no need to "force" it any lower since there are 11 million unfilled jobs.
