If Jimmy Kimmel does comeback, if he his unable to criticize and mock Trump and his administration on his show, then he should not come back?!!

Jimmy Kimmel and Disney are working toward reaching a compromise that would allow “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to return to ABC.

The veteran host’s business and legal representatives are deep in discussions with Disney and ABC leaders in the hopes of finding a path to a compromise that would allow for the return of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to three people with knowledge of the situation.

The host has made no public comment since the show was abruptly pulled from its regular 11:35 p.m. slot on Sept. 17, with Disney saying only that the program would be off of its schedule “indefinitely” after one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the U.S., Nexstar, said it intended to pre-empt airings of the program following remarks the host made in relation to Trump and the slaying of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Sinclair, another large station owner, said it too was taking Kimmel off of its stations. Kimmel has hosted ABC’s late-night franchise since 2003 and in recent years has become a key face of the network as the host of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” the Academy Awards and other specials.

There is no guarantee Kimmel and Disney will come to terms on agreement to return to the airwaves, these people cautioned. Nor is it clear where Kimmel’s mindset stands on what he would and would not accept from ABC as conditions of taking the stage again for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” It’s understood that Kimmel is mindful of the effects a shutdown would have on dozens of his production staffers as well as vendors in Los Angeles who work on the show, according to one source with knowledge of the situation. The host is also aware some staff and crew members are still digging out of the financial hole created by the months-long writers and actors strikes in 2023.

ABC has had a problem with someone as far left and not funny on what once was a totally nonpolitical hour of humorous monologues and interesting guests.
They completely cancelled out a large segment of a potential audience and then some.
E.g., I’m moderate right leaning and I’d be put off by an unfunny far right hack who thinks it’s entertaining constantly bashing Biden or Obama every night.

No matter what, late night tv is in its death knells. The days of Carson and Leno are long gone. Too bad.

He wouldn't come back with that restriction, nor does he really need Disney. There's a world of cable over which the FCC has no power.

If Jimmy Kimmel does comeback, if he his unable to criticize and mock Trump and his administration on his show, then he should not come back?!!
So why does ABC keep The View ?

The gabbers on that show over the years have said things just as, or perhaps even more, bizarre than Kimmel, yet ABC keeps airing that program, presumably because it can generate an audience and revenue.
ABC has also kept George Stephanopoulos in his news anchor chair, even though Trump would love to see him booted, suing ABC and collecting a settlement because of George’s comments.
Trump has disdain for an entire laundry list of media outlets, from The New York Times to CNN to NBC and CBS. Yet all of those outlets continue to publish and broadcast freely, roundly criticizing Trump as they see fit along the way.

Kimmel is just a shit show.

I think he should tell them to stuff their compromise where the sun doesn't shine.

Give them the old Bronx salute. 🖕🏼

Then get together with Colbert and Stewart on a cable or streaming platform and launch a scathing, no holds barred, merciless three pronged verbal comedy truth assault on trump and his evil, Stalinist bullshit regime.

Drag his fat, ignorant orange ass through the mud every week.

Podcast it, post clips on X, Instagram and Facebook, etc, etc.

In short, make trump rue the day he ever thought of fucking with the First amendment.

Stewart wouldn’t want to fuck up his brand associating with those two hacks.

Except that Kimmel and Colbert aren’t humorous in the least.
No reason for Stewart to allow those two to bring him down , friends or not.

I'm not a fan of Colbert. I think Kimmel is funny on his own, but aside from the monologue where he did stand up comedy, I didn't think the rest of his show was very funny.

But I also realize that that's just my personal opinion just like your comments represent your personal opinion, which plenty of people disagree with.

So anytime I see/hear someone make some authoritarian pronouncement like "So and so isn't/aren't humorous in the least", I take it for what it is .... the unqualified opinion of someone who thinks they're the arbiter of what is and isn't funny even though, if the truth were known, they probably don't know what is and isn't funny either.

Come to think of it, that describes trump himself. Always shooting off his fat ignoramus mouth on things he knows nothing about and making himself look like a clownish buffoon before the entire world.

Carry on.

Maybe actually being funny would help....

Why would Disney want to compromise with a not funny cretin after he lost millions of dollars for them?
They shouldn't...Anyone "boycotting" them over this will get over it very soon...i hear of people threatening to get rid of Hulu and Disney+...but that's not happening...
And btw...thanks to your Braves for the win...;)

Ex-Obama staffer: If Jimmy Kimmel returns to air, he needs to ‘kick the s---’ out of Trump(y)

The hosts of “Pod Save America” discussed the potential return of late night host Jimmy Kimmel to the airwaves following the recent suspension of his show by ABC.

Co-host Jon Favreau highlighted a Puck News report that said Disney executives were looking for a way to bring Kimmel back to the air after the Federal Communications Commission chair threatened the network earlier this week. FCC chairman Brendan Carr issued the threat after Kimmel’s comments about right-wing activist Charlie Kirk’s killing sparked backlash from the MAGA base.

Co-host Dan Pfeiffer questioned how Disney could “work something out” to put Kimmel back on the air.

“Work something out? They just have to say put him back on the air,” Pfeiffer said on Friday’s episode. “Are we settling with Brendan Carr for this? Like what the f--- are we doing? You’re in charge. It’s your company. It’s a free country.”

Contributor Alex Wagner then speculated whether Kimmel would even want to come back.

“Well, but will Jimmy want to go back? I mean, that’s the question. Like, if you can’t say what he said, you’re a comedian,” Wagner said. “The whole point is you can speak, without using four-letter words, you’re speaking uncensored to make light of parody or otherwise stick it to people in power.”

“And if he can’t do that, and if he feels like he’s under a microscope, I don’t know how you do the same show,” Wagner added.

Favreau agreed and suggested that Kimmel would have to be even more critical of President Donald Trump if he returned to his show.

“In fact, if he came back, he would have to, in the most factual way possible, kick the shit out of Donald Trump,” Favreau said.

After being brought back from the dead, will Kimmel be funny... to anyone...

Who is going to watch the returned-to-life Kimmel? Certainly not Normies...

What is the value to Disney of having the Zombie Kimmel? Will his employment still be worth Millions? Or.. perhaps something like $200K a year.

It’s because Hulu and Disney are bleeding subscribers. Their stock also went down.
