This can be traced right back to a largely misled and misinformed voting public, motivated by peer pressure and baseless rumors instead of awareness of the political landscape.
When voters are motivated more by hatred for 'the system' than by positive ideas from people who want to improve it, then you get this kind of political backpedaling. Every day some of these misguided Republicans and right wing hate profiteering opportunists work, the more harm they do to America.
It would almost be worth it for the US government to simply pay Tucker Carlson whatever he makes just to shut up, decease and desist. Of course, the only problem with that would be others coming along and wanting to do the same thing.
Maybe it would be worth the government having a huge PR department to improve the public's perception of government. Oh, but sticky wicket there. The down side of that could work the opposite way...
I wish people, particularly those motivated to vote, would take the time to learn what's really going on, and most of all learn the difference between fact and opinion. Develop the ability to cross check things and verify. The right really has made way too much out of the simple incorrect notion that 'the main stream media is fake news.' That one thing is so hurtful. It leads unknowing people to believe stories from small time extremists trying to be sensational and to reject actual news from reputable sources who stake their business on reputation and credibility.
Hint: If your news source claims to be fair and balanced? It probably isn't. The ones that are don't have to say it all the time like they are trying to mind-condition you.

Think they'll do this when the other indictments get close to issue?
He's not the only one here. I have him on permanent ignore and have informed him but he still responds to my posts. I wish Damo could find a way to prevent that.

Well, that is certainly a positive approach that all legitimate JPP members should do.
I never start threads here, but if I did, I would do the same thing.
And as for the legacy Republicans and never-trump Republican members here, they should also do the same thing, as TROLLS like YAKUDA are what is driving even more people away from the Republican party than even Trump himself!
SO if there is any consolation for having trolls like Yakuda CHIME IN HERE, THEY ACTUALLY DO MORE DAMAGE FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY they love so much, than ever anything positive that can gained from their Hateful Behaviors here!
They drive people away from discussion venues like this, too. When I comment on various political people's posts on their social media, there are always a group of Klingons who pop up immediately and start calling anyone who disagrees with that political ugly names. Thankfully on FB and other venues, you can block them so that they no longer can see your posts and respond to them. Wish we could block individuals here that way as well. It's probably way beyond the forum's software capabilities though.

Damo could resolve the matter of Trolls, if he would just change a couple of simple parameters in the software he is using now, that would allow members to actually put TROLLS like him on permanent ignore!
What I mean by that, is setting the ignore feature up to prevent the one you ignore from being able to even see your comments or threads, and you can't see theirs at all either respectively, OF COURSE.
The way it is set up now, even if you put them on ignore, they can still see your comments and participate in your threads, BUT YOU JUST CAN'T SEE THEIR COMMENTS OR THREADS.
WTF good does that do? That only handicaps you- NOT THEM!
As, they can still TROLL you and your every comment or thread- YOU JUST CAN'T SEE IT- unless someone quotes the troll's comments.
So basically, the way DAMO has the software configured, most particularly the IGNORE FEATURE, the Forum is a haven and breeding ground for TROLLS like Yakuda.
Perhaps that's his intention- WHO KNOWS?
One man's troll- is another man's Idol- or something to that effect!

Good point. The "block" thing on FB prevents the blocked troll from seeing your posts, account, everything. It should work that way here too, but I don't know if the JPP software has that function. Damo is considering new software; did you see his post about that? You can weigh in there if you haven't already.

Damo has decided he doesn't like me, most probably because we do not agree politically, but he would only ignore my suggestion or recommendation- if it came from me personally.
But, I am a member of another forum that uses this exact software, and that site strictly, logically, and strategically has the IGNORE parameters set up correctly to IGNORE BOTH WAYS!
It is the only way to maintain civility in a Political forum today!
And also the reason why we have so many dregs, troublemakers, and HABITUAL RACIST TROLLS here in this forum that turns every day into a circus and frustrating experience here at JPP!
