Jimmy Buffet died last night

Hospitalized for an undisclosed illness a few months ago. I'm gonna miss him.

He's finally off to Margaritaville. RIP

I used to have a GF in Key West where I'd hang out on days off in the 90s. Buffett had both his private plane at the airport and a bar there.

I'm as far from a pop culture expert as one can get, but wasn't he the Margaritaville guy?

My chiropractor wouldn't miss one of shows if he were anywhere around.

A whole gang of his friends, most of them gay, would go together every year.

[I was always ugly enough to safely go to a gay chiropractor without worrying about getting rubbed the wrong way.]

It would just be a small problem anyway.

I always loved that song of his "If you like Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain..."

I'm kidding obviously I just wanted to reference this episode of Always Sunny

He'll be missed. Glad I saw him one last time about five years ago with the Eagles. 'He Went to Paris' and 'A Pirate looks at 40' were always my favorites, less well known than the party songs, still wonderful poetry.

My time share in Key West was his old home. I have been there many times. They shut Duval street down and he sang from a stage in the street a few times.
They have Buffet contests for singers and he often showed up for them.

What a loss! I have been listening to Buffett music for days now. The tributes pouring in for him are amazing. He will be missed.

Remembering Jimmy Buffett: Singer honored by political 'parrotheads'
Both Republican and Democratic politicians and pundits paid tribute to the legendary “Margaritaville” singer Jimmy Buffett after his death over the weekend.

President Joe Biden called him “a poet of paradise" and "an American music icon."

“His witty, wistful songs celebrate a uniquely American cast of characters and seaside folkways, weaving together an unforgettable musical mix of country, folk, rock, pop, and calypso into something uniquely his own,” Biden said in a statement.

"I’ll always be grateful for his kindness, generosity, and great performances through the years," former President Bill Clinton said Saturday.

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. remembered his "dear friend" and "environmental ally."

"Buffett’s maritime passions inspired the Parrothead movement, an ideology that begins with a love for our waterways and respect for each other," Kennedy said....

He left right before the "Labor Day weekend show." How prophetic.
